Like a string around my finger you remind me
Of what it is to breathe
When all is lost and all seems hopeless
You breathe your life to me
I'm a crier I'm a liar
And you've seen the last of me
You're a winner still a sinner
But you're better than can be

I swear I'm over you
I'm doing what they told me to
In order to forget you
In order to regret you

Pay your way, come what may, we'll see the day
when I don't need you
I'm walking blind, no way to find, If you were mine
When I still want you

Like a rope around my neck I'm running circles
Around the thought of you
'Cause all is lost and all seems hopeless
In my manic point of view

I'm a crier I'm a liar
And you've not seen the last of me
You're a winner still a sinner, yes you are
But you're better off than me

I swear I'm over you
I'm doing what they told me to
In order to forget you
Just so I can regret you

Pay your way, come what may, we'll see the day
when I don't need you
I'm walking blind, no way to find, If you were mine
When I still want you

Pay your way, come what may, we'll see the day
when I don't need you
I'm walking blind, no way to find, If you were mine
When I still want you
When I still want you..

This guy is a former stalker who was sued (hence the title Holding Court) and forced to go into therapy, and he's trying to convince the stalkee (and himself) that the therapy is working ("I swear I'm over you, I'm doing what I'm told to")

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
