"Inside Of You" as written by Lyle Dean Jr. Workman, Peter Joseph Salett and Jason Segel....
Old as Ancient Skies
I've had these wondering eyes
But you took me by surprise when
You let me inside of you

Inside of you
Inside of you
There's got to be
Some part of me
Inside of you

Inside of you, I could cross this desert plane
Inside of you, I can hear you scream my name
Inside of you, while the stars unfold
I've crossed me heart and I've crossed the world
And I need you here and I need to be
Inside of you

Now the flowers bloom
I feel you creep into my room
And if this should be our tune
I'll die here inside of you

And the world explodes
I've never been down this road
Teach me how to grow
While I'm moving
Inside of you

Inside of you, the restless find their dreams
Inside of you, this king has found his queen
Inside of you, all the stars unfold
I've crossed me heart and I've crossed the world
And I need you here and I need to be
Inside of you

Inside of you
Bay blue
So say it's you
To thoughts untrue
Who I woo
It's you I woo

Through and through
And through and through
There's so much more than just a screw
Inside of you

And I was blizzard blind
Felt like I'd lost me mind
But you've treated me so kind
I don't know what to do

General CommentOh boy.. this song is funny and clever, having several different takes to the lyrics. Well..this is what I think of the song.. (sexually)

    Oh these ancient skies
I've had these wandering eyes (obviously, looking at other girls)
but you took me by surprise (some chick caught his attention)
when you let me inside of you (he got to have sex with her and it was just different)

    Inside of you
    Inside of you
    There's got to be
    Some part of me
Inside of you (i think this verse is pretty obvious)

Inside of you, I could cross this desert plane (desert plane = shaved vagina)
Inside of you, I can hear you scream my name
Inside of you, while the stars unfold
I've crossed me heart and I've crossed the world
And I need you here and I need to be
    Inside of you

Now the flowers bloom (again, flowers popularly resemble vagina)
I feel you creep into my room
And if this should be our tune
I'll die here inside of you (i think it has something to do with climax?)

And the world explodes (again.. climax)
I've never been down this road
    Teach me how to glow
While I'm moving inside of you

Inside of you, the restless find their dreams
Inside of you, this king has found his queen (penis to vagina lol, hello there)
Inside of you, all the stars unfold
I've crossed me heart and I've crossed the world
And I need you here and I need to be
    Inside of you

    Inside of you
    Bay blue
    So say it's you
    To thoughts untrue
    Who I woo
    It's you I woo

    Through and through
    And through and through
There's so much more than just a screw
    Inside of you

    And I was blizzard blind
Felt like I'd lost me mind
But you've treated me so kind
I don't know what to do (this verse, i guess the whole experience was so new to him that he "didn't know what to do". Something like that..)

Sorry if this "meaning" sounds like a total joke lol but that's just how i think the lyrics to the song are portrayed

General CommentI believe that this song can have two meanings:

    1) As the movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, makes it out to be, the song can be referring the person being "inside of" another (as one would be during intercourse). Because the song seems romantic, it is quite amusing that the person is trying to be romantic with very sexually-loaded words. It could also be a symbol of our less-restricted music industry today. It keeps changing everyday.

    2) Ironically, this song can be un-shallow. Whatever is "inside of" a person can be something wonderful that a person feels about another. If someone has a great personality or character, this song can describe this situation.

General CommentI think that at the last verse he's trying to say,
"usually I just blow off the person I get with and go for someone else. However, you're someone more special and I've never felt this way before."

Lyric CorrectionIn the second verse, I'm quite sure he says "tomb" not "tune". Which makes more sense in the context of the verse. Like, their room where he is inside of her (metaphorically or literally, take your pick) is the place they share, and if they die (and it becomes their tomb) then he will be happy to die there with her.

    Now the flowers bloom
I feel you creep into my room
And if this should be our tomb
I'll die here inside of you

Are there official lyrics? I wonder what they say...

General CommentI'm surprised that nobody brought up the "Bay Blu" in the song, who is a black rapper. He does sing "he's never done this before". Could that be who he is singing about?
