"These Four Walls" as written by Cheyenne Kimball, Scott Cutler and Anne Preven....
These four walls
They whisper to me
They know a secret
I knew they would not keep
It didn't take long
For the room to fill with dust
And these four walls came down around us

It must have been something to send me out of my head
With the words so radical and not what I meant
Now I wait
For a break in the silence 'cause it's all that you left
Just me and these four walls again

It's hard now to let you be
I won't make excuses
I've made my peace
It didn't take long
For me to lose the trust
Cause these four walls
Were not strong enough

It must have been something to send me out of my head
With the words so radical and not what I meant
Now I wait
For a break in the silence 'cause it's all that you left
Just me and these four walls again

Yeah
It's difficult
Watching us fade
Knowing it's all my fault
My mistake
Yeah, and it's difficult
Letting you down
Knowing it's all my fault
You're not around

It must have been something to send me out of my head
With the words so radical and not what I meant
Now I wait
For a break in the silence 'cause it's all that you left
Just me and these four walls again

Again
These four walls again

My Interpretationi think this song is about a person who has had a fall out with a boyfriend or friend, someone special whoever it may have been. the first verse is explaining how she's alone in her room, and the whispers may be reminders of the mistakes she has made and how the relationship fell apart. the chorus is that she has said something horrible that made the person be mad at her and leave with nothing but silence and the being alone with her mistakes. the second verse is her coming to grips with the fact that she messed up the relationship, and she wants so badly to make it up to the person, but she can't gather enough courage for it and has just settled with the fact that what she did was wrong. the pre chorus here is that she did or said something that made her untrustworthy, and broke the foundations of the relationship causing it to fall down around them. then the bridge (which is my absolute favorite part) is her admitting that it is so hard for her to see the person she loves leave her because of something she did or said, and having to live with the disappointment that she caused them and ultimately her admitting her mistakes.
this song is really amazing, simply beautiful. the whole song is about regretting what was, and how it was the person's fault that everything slipped away. the bridge is so raw with emotion and beautiful, where the verses are slightly monotone but then the bridge and you can tell how much regret is in there
that's my interpretation since no one has put one up haha

General CommentCyrus's version is just alright. It's too bad that Miley will get all the credit. Neither girl has excellent vocals--Miley is just cute, and she puts on a fun performance, but Cheyenne is a great songwriter and a good musician. Plus, Cheyenne wrote this song to begin with..."win" goes to her.

General CommentCheyenne's version is the best. Miley's voice is pitchy in the beginning. Cheyennes voice is sweeter and Miley's is high and deep. But I like them both.

General CommentMiley sounds a lot better than Cheyenne while singing this song...or any other song... Cheyenne's voice is annoying. Sorry, Cheyenne. I had no idea this was originally her song until everyone started shoving it down my throat, because I remember when Cheyenne came out and I wouldn't have bought her album if you paid me. Her voice is whiner and she struggles with the high notes. It sounds like she's in pain when she sings.
Miley sounds really good. And is cute, puts on a fun performance, and a great songwriter and good musician.

But I honestly have no idea what this song means that's why I came here but no one is saying. LAME.
