"Meet You There" as written by Dan Layus and Mike Flynn....
Climb up on a mountain, just to watch it come down
But sooner or later babe, you're gonna need me around
'Cause you're getting older, there ain't no stopping that
It's a backstabbing world honey, just lean your head back

The fool in me
It's like a dream, you see
But if the world is right
I'll drive all night
And meet you there someday

Six in the morning, never felt so sweet
Just put on Lucinda baby, and dance with me
I know I'm hard to count on
Forget half what I'm told
You probably only know my voice from
A goddamn microphone

It's a waste
A teenage taste of me
But if Daddy cries
Just say goodnight
And I'll come
If I could change
I'd keep away the rain
And the sun would shine every night
And I'll come meet you there someday

General CommentYeah it's "It's a f*cking waste" instead of just "It's a waste". Don't see anything wrong with it, it's just like James Blunt's "f*cking high".

General CommentI think he's saying he wants to be somebody that he knows he could be but isn't and he wants to change. He keeps letting her down and he never is there for her, he is more like a dream but he is hoping "someday" he will be able to be there for her.

General CommentAbout a man who loves a girl, but her family denies her the chance to be with him.

The only way they contact each other is over the radio or phone. He plans ways to keep together, including playing the same song at the same time so they can spiritually dance with each other.

He is saying that, even though he isnt happy about it, its alright.
He wants her to keep a good relationship with her family. He recognises that soon she'll be old enough to step away from her family and make her own life.

And when she does, he will drive all night to a destination and meet her there

General CommentI don't read the comic but it could mean , simply , the feathers r that of an angel that she's acting like all innocent. But the dude coming back for her - metaphorically - is the devil. Thus she should hide her angel wings cuz she's arrogantly (or naively) thinking its gonna be Jesus comng back for her - but he doesn't want to save her. So doesn't want to be seen with jc wings when old lucifer comes by to take her for good... Perhaps the symbols here could b applied to the original story? At least that's s
    what I've always heard.......

General CommentJust saw Augustana 2 weeks ago and before Dan played this song...he said it was simply about him wanting to get off the road of touring and meet his woman at some romantic getaway drinking margaritas.

General Commenti agree, it kinda seems to me like it's about his daughter. a lot of the songs kinda seem so.
