Black dog I see
Daily, nightly
Monthly, yearly
Sweetly, dearly

She says
"When you pat me I feel neatly
Rub my paws please, and scratch my belly"

In the evening I try songwriting
I'm self loathing, but I love singing
I'll try escaping these evil feelings
But they keep coming, oh they keep coming...

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

    Song MeaningBlack dog, I see
    daily, nightly
    monthly, yearly
    sweetly, dearly

This part can be interpreted in two ways.
"Black dog" is a metaphor for depression. Dude is depressed, but his dog is there for him every day.

    She says,
"when you pat me, I feel neatly
rub my paws please; scratch my belly."

    Dog loves him unconditionally.

"In the evening I try songwriting
I'm self loathing, but I love singing
I'll try escaping these evil feelings
But they keep coming, oh they keep coming."

    Depression.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away."

    Dude loves his dog, man.

General CommentVery nice song about emotions. Animal emotinos are pure and true while human's are sometimes insecure and biased. Love this song

General CommentWhen I posted this, the song ended before the "you are my sunshine" part. They added that part for the Rompilation version, and it features Kepi Ghoulie, not Simone White. I don't know if they should be considered two separate songs but just in case anyone comes in here wondering why the wrong person is credited, it's because they just edited the version already here to correspond with the Rompilation lyrics. However, this song existed before Rompilation and I urge you to find it because Simone White has a very pretty voice :)
