When it’s cold outside, can’t feel the warmth from the sun
You’re going through more than what it looks like
Ever Feel alone inside?
Wanna get away, you want to run
And you need someone more than you realize
Well…
I got you
When everything’s going wrong, I know how to carry on
YOUUUU
When everything is falling down
Yeah it’s true
When you need a helping hand
You know I got you
Ohhh
Yeah I got you
I got you
When you’ve had enough, going gets tough you and you thinkin of
How you gonna pull yourself out of this mess
It’s so hard growing up, But know that the best is yet to come
And if you ever need to get it off your chest
I got you
When everything’s going wrong, I know how to carry on
YOUUUU
When everything is falling down
Yeah it’s true
When you need a helping hand
You know I got you
Ohhh
Yeah I got you
I got you
When life gets comes calling
And you feel so small
And the Rains so hard and won’t stop falling, no
We’re not alone, Cause...
I got you
When everything’s going wrong, I know how to carry on
YOUUUU
When everything is falling down
Yeah it’s true
When you need a helping hand
You know I got you
Ohhh
Yeah I got you
I got you
Yeah I got you

    My Interpretation

I think at the beginning where she's talking about him having a tight grip on her, it was her thinking "Man, you don't have to suffocate me." Like, having too tight of a grip will make her kind of, well, want to leave him. Which is where the "I'm delicate, you know" comes from. She's delicate, she can't feel so tightly squeezed like this.

Where she says "you're sizing me up you're making me blush i'm not pretty enough i'm drunk as fuck" I think this is her after a slight adjustment has been made. He's not squeezing her as tightly, but now she's just insecure. He stopped 'suffocating' her but now she's just like so emotionally confused.

Later when she says "Aren't you happy you got that girl" she was referring to the fact that he went out and cheated on her.

So basically, it started out as her being suffocated in the relationship, until he started pulling away, pulling as far away as another girl, and she realized "Wait... I miss the tight grip"

Anyway that's just how I listen to this song. Other people's meanings don't incorperate every part of the song in them so they make no sense.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
