"Evening Wear" as written by and James Euringer....
This is my vindication
With a little decoration
No need to keep you waitin'
Be intimidated
By what we have created
Kiss underneath the radar

[Chorus]
I got myself a fuckin' life
Dressed up in evening wear
I dress myself in fuckin' lies
I don't care
Make-up won't help me oblige too much
It's not fair
To be compared to you [Repeat x2]
To be compared to

Just call me "Mr. Modest"
I got it and I flaunt it
You can applaud if you wanna
Cock-blockin' non-stoppin'
When this ass is a-rockin'
Do not come a knockin'

[Chorus]

Everybody wants to join the club
Once you join the club, the innocence is gone
Everybody wants to be the bomb
But once you are the bomb, the innocence is gone
Everybody wants a big ol' slice
Of a little pie, the innocence is gone
Everybody wants in [Repeat x2]
Everybody wants

I got myself a fuckin' life
Dressed up in evening wear
I dress myself in fuckin' lies
Guess what?
I don't care
Make-up won't help me oblige too much
It's not fair
Dressed down until I disappear
But I won't do it alone
No I won't do it alone
Oh I won't do it alone

My InterpretationI think this song is about an unpopular person now gaining a lot of popularity and losing their individuality on the way, getting sucked in to the rich lifestyle.

"Everybody wants to join the club
Once you join the club, the innocence is gone"

You envy the popularity.. but once you have it, you become like them and the innocence has gone.

General Commentit's a song about being posh, and somewhat arrogant about your "beauty"

General CommentThis song is about being an unpopular person, envious of the really rich socialites, until you become not only extremely pressured, but also fake because you act like them and you lose who you are tho the crap society consumes you with.

General CommentThis song is sort of what gijter said but not exactly in my opinion this song is about how preppy kids and emo kids both act/dress and be fake to get across there style's and to "fit in"

General CommentI ... really don't know what this song means. XD

The other explanations just ... don't seem to fit D: Not for me, anyway. GAH.

    D<

BTW I think it's "Make up won't help me much too much", not "Make up won't help me oblige too much"

General CommentI don't know, when I hear it I think about how it sounds like he's talking about dressing drag, but then again maybe that's just me

General Commentthis is what it said in one of their myspace blogs
its about how people dress in ways so to fit in
and lose their individuality in the process
