The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

My thoughts on the song: It's about the religious people with whom he grew up at school, the whole school itself and him being like a "married couple". When he says "it's time to say your prayers and show your stuff" he means show me how true what your religion is cause it's easy to "talk the talk" but you can't keep your word and "walk the walk" For him people who dont follow the social norm are only "fallen angels", meaning pure heart human being that society pushed to fall to the ground of social stigmatisation, to then point their fingers at them and turn them into "antichrist". The razor thing is an hint as to what kind of people he refers to as victims of social norms: the kids who cut themselves because they're being bullied for being different. But it can apply to anyone who's different really which is why this song is amazing! Ps.
