From the locker room of our high school
To the walk-in closet of your bedroom
Your parents disapprove
Our love's too cool
And I'm just too damn smooth

I'm jumping off the roof of my room
I'd break both of my legs to get to you
I've worn out my welcome in their home
So I'll come when they're asleep.
Go!

Girl, get dressed, I'll meet you at midnight
We're gonna share our dance
Under the streetlights
Fuck your parents
And your brother's bedtime
Cause this will be our last dance tonight

Well this sucks. Every single night, every single time. This is my last try - I'll show them, won't I?

Well say farewell to your parents
Cause this'll be the last time
That they'll ever see us alive

From the backseat of your parents car
To your best friend's house where they think you are
Your parents disapprove
Oh, I love you
Oh man if they only knew

I'm jumping off the roof of my room
I'd break both of my legs to get to you
I've worn out my welcome in their home
So I'll come when they're asleep and they'll never know

Girl, get dressed, I'll meet you at midnight
We're gonna share our dance
Under the streetlights
Fuck your parents
And your brother's bedtime
Cause this will be our last dance tonight

Well this sucks. Every single night, every single time. This is my last try - I'll show them, won't I?

Well say goodbye to your parents
Cause this'll be the last time
That they'll ever see us alive

Expect a knock
On your window
At twelve o'clock, we'll be alone
Asleep in their own home
Your parents will never know
Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
I can't make it alone"
Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
Cause I can't make it on my own."

Girl, get dressed, I'll meet you at midnight
We're gonna share our dance
Under the streetlights
Fuck your parents
And your brother's bedtime
Cause this will be our last dance tonight

Well this sucks. Every single night, every single time. We'll show them why.

Well say goodbye to your parents
Cause this'll be the last time
That they'll ever see us alive

It's down in the mud
I'm holding a gun
I'm sitting at the bottom of the ocean
My love, the only one
With her arms wide open
Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
I can't make it alone"
Well she says "Just know, that if you go
Well then I will follow."

"Well then I will follow."

She said "I'm gonna follow"

Whoo!

She says "Don't go, just don't go
Cause I can't make it on my own."

General CommentThe guy loves his girl a lot ("I'm jumping off the room of my room/I'd break both of my legs to get to you"), but, quite obviously, her parents don't like her. It sounds like he's either gonna kill himself, or they're gonna kill themselves together ("Say goodbye to your parents/Cause this'll be the last time /That they ever see us alive"), but then later he's not going to do it, because his girl still needs him ("Face down in the mud/I'm holding a gun/I'm sitting at the bottom of the ocean/My love, the only one/With her arms wide open/Well she says 'Don't go, just don't go/I can't make it alone'/Well she says 'Don't go, just don't go/Cause I can't make it on my own'")

General Commenti agree with you grayfire except for one thing. He does love her a lot, but in the end i dont think they decide to both kill themselves together. It's just showing how much the girl loves him too. She's threatening that she'll kill herself if he does first. I doubt he would let that happen but it doesn't give the end result. I just dont believe that they both agreed to do it together.

General CommentThe "if you go, well then I will follow" is like No Lies, Just Love by Bright Eyes.

General CommentI actually do think that they died together because she does say: "I'm gonna follow"..... So now he was sure that he wouldn't leave her in vain.

My InterpretationIf we want to stray away from the whole suicide interpretation of this song, you could say that this song is about leaving the girl he loves.

Obviously, from numerous lines, it's stated that her parents don't really care for him much but he doesn't care because he sneaks into her house anyway, but it really doesn't matter now because he's leaving for good.

"Girl, get dressed, I'll meet you at midnight
    We're gonna share our dance
    Under the streetlights
    Fuck your parents
    And your brother's bedtime
Cause this will be our last dance tonight"

He's going to meet her one last time before he leaves so they can dance under the street lights, regardless of whatever else is going on at that point.

"Well say goodbye to your parents
Cause this'll be the last time
That they'll ever see us alive"

The "last time they'll ever see us alive" part could mean that this is the last time that they will see them alive, and they are alive when they're together. Without each other, it's like they're dead, no more being happy, just sorrow from separation. They won't be "alive".

"Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
    I can't make it alone"
Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
Cause I can't make it on my own.""

Obviously she doesn't want him to leave because she feels like she can't live without him.

    "Face down in the mud
    I'm holding a gun
I'm sitting at the bottom of the ocean
    My love, the only one
    With her arms wide open
Well she says "Don't go, just don't go
    I can't make it alone"
Well she says "Just know, that if you go
    Well then I will follow.""

The whole gun thing can mean that he's killed himself, as in leaving her is like suicide, it's killing him to have to leave her. But then she decides that wherever he intends to travel to, she will follow.

I dunno, just looking at it from a non-suicide angle. Let me hear your thoughts.
