"Do The Panic (Album version)" as written by Alexander Greenwald and Jason Schwartzmann....
I guess we're all in trouble, huh?
Black clouds are upon us
And it's doomsday on the other side of town.
That boy survived a severed head
When most would just give up for dead,
So I said: "Al B. don't get so upset."
We all get scared of sticking out our necks
It's expected!

So panic...

It's time to lose control!
Turn off your radio!
You're gonna feel alright!
Let's do the panic tonight!

This place is turning upside down,
And shaking all of our change out,
And Charlotte's tossing her hair to the hounds
But it's her head they want on the wall
Right next to the screeching owl,
And I don't like this party
Or the sound
Of people walking across you when you're down.
And that's it!
So panic.

It's time to lose control!
Turn up your radio!
Yeah you can bring your friends!
So we all do the panic again!

I hate to correct anything, and eventhough its a small error and probably doesnt need to be corrected, I have to do it...

General CommentI was watching a video on Youtube of a live performance and he said "It's about getting squeamish on New Year's Eve while trying to make out with a girl. Not me, I don't get squeamish, it's about my friend. Totally." haha youtube.com/…

I guess the first part is about being afraid of putting yourself out there for embarassment/rejection. Everyone hates it and goes through it but you may as well embrace it.

That boy survived a severed head
When most would just give up for dead,
So I said: "Albee don't get so upset."
We all get scared of sticking out our necks
    It's expected!
    So panic.

It sounds like the second verse is describing the panic that has set in.

This place is turning upside down,
And shaking all of our change out,
And Charlotte's tossing her hair to the hounds -
But it's her head they want on the wall
Right next to the screeching owl,
And I don't like this party
    Or the sound
Of people walking across you when you're down.
    And that's it!
    So panic.

That's my take at least. I'm not sure about the second verse but who cares? This song is too catchy to stop listening to!

General CommentThis song has so much energy and emotion. It sums up Phantom Planet pretty well and is so darn catchy!
