Do it again
And I'll see you tomorrow
I want to get it
You've got something to borrow

Can't make it feel right on my own
That's when I turn you on again
I buy it but it don't measure up
What is the missed ingredient?

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

Under the skin
It's not so easy to swallow
Don't reel me in
To find my dreams are so hollow
What is it you got I don't get?
I watch you fumbling again
Look dreamy behind your cigarette
Know it ain't true now

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

Ooh wee
Ooh wee, ooh

We all find you easy so amuse us
Don't get too heady you might abuse luck
You're starstruck

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

I, I see you fade
I, I see you fade away

    My Interpretation

i agree with both nutmeg and minilicious. I believe this song can be interpreted in over a billion different ways. no one is really wrong. minilicious: ur opinion makes complete sense. addiction to a guy for sure. maybe not the one night stand part but still. it sounds like santigold is sick of some guy at one point but then at the next she is desperate for him. also making it sound like she is almost mad at herself for being so stupid to flip flop like that. nutmeg: it does sound like it could be used in relation to fame or publicism. in fact, it almost sounds like being inspired by maybe bad behavior from a celebrity or something or wanting fame so bad and being jealous of one. but also being inspired by one who is... well... inspirational. hense starstruck. one of my other interpretations is this being about being sick of wanting someone so much. then u got them but they didn't please u and all u did is fight or whatever. but u kept getting back together over and over and over again. this annoys santogold so she writes "i.. i see u fade away". it sounds like when she says that she means "im breaking up with u now and ur fading away. but just watch because i will see u tomorrow when one of us wants us back." idk. please no one tell me im stupid or reply to my message saying "that is so wrong" because that is just my interpretaion. :)

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
