"Clevermind" as written by Marko Saaresto, Olli Tukiainen and Markus Kaarlonen....
Looking at the road that rises up ahead
I thought I'd learned a thing or two
But this is where it's all made new
N' I gotta throw my hands up
I can't go on if I can't stop

Look the leaves are dead
The moments gone, there's no surrender
Forever now unsaid
The words that might've warmed December
'cause it's all inside your head
Like fragments of a dream you remember
So never mind, your clever mind, never mind me

Staring at the ceiling from my bed
I thought I'd earned a chance or few
Thought I'd be paid in due
Time isn't made for waiting
Past isn't worth debating

Look the leaves are dead...

Feeling like a fool again
Just need a new direction
A new beginning , a new beginning
I can't hold back and I can't hold on
It's all about gratification
See me running, see me running

Look the leaves are dead.

General Commentto me it sounds like they say
    "i can't go back and i can't hold on"

basically, this song is about moving on. something has changed, something's too late. must most likely be about a relationship.. someone had a dream, a chance to say something, to do something.. and suddenly it was too late... they simply have to move on.

    i love the line
"our time isn't made for waiting
    and past isn't worth debating"
    it's so true..

Song MeaningI agree that it's about a lost relationship. The person keeps thinking of what they could have done to fix it ("words that might have warmed December", "forever now unsaid"). They think they'd have "earned a chance or few" but there's nothing more they can do. Their inner voice is trying to reason "Look the leaves are dead" (this and "December" refer to winter - the coldness that remains) and "I gotta throw my hands up /
I can't go on if I can't stop" - it's better to admit it's over or they cannot go on to new beginnings.

I do wonder why the title "Clevermind". Probably referring to how the person is wiser now ("learned a thing or two") but "never mind" - because it's too late.

A pretty accurate description of my own breakup (except it was November :P). And I'm glad the "winter" is over now ;)

General CommentTo me this song is about regretting thinking things through until the chance to act passes you by, whether it be about a relationship or not.
