"They Say" as written by and Daron Malakian....
I walked the line, the line I choose
I see the people in front of me
I climbed the wall, the wall of news
I watched them show the tragedy

If you were me, could you defend
the given rights to all the men?
Let's fuck the world with all it's trend
They say it's all about to end...

They say it's all about to end...
They say, they say...

There's a prison that's gone, but the fear lives on
I watched you walking on the dotted line
Maybe you don't see what's in front of me
Maybe you won't stand the test of time
For we live in sin, for we will win
I watched the president kiss his family
For we live in sin, for we will win
I watched the president fuck society

If you were me, could you defend
the given rights to all the men?
Let's fuck the world with all it's trend
They say it's all about to end...

They say it's all about to end...
They say, they say...

I fall in love with the old times
I never mention my own mind
Let's fuck the world with all it's trend
Thank god, it's all about to end...

They say it's all about to end...
They say, they say...
They say, they say...
They say it's all about to end

General CommentIt's only natural to make comparisons, as there are obvious similarities. Don't question my fandom.

General CommentAmazing guitar playing in this song... just great!

But basically, this song is pretty self explanatory- world is decaying due to our actions.

"I watched the president kiss his family
For we live in sin, for we will win
I watched the president fuck society"
    ...haha, yes!

General Comment"I walked the line, the line I choose"
---you chose which path to follow.

"Let's fuck the world with all it's trend
They say it's all about to end..."
---forget what's "in", following other's blindly is what's causing us distress

"I fall in love with the old times
I never mention my own mind"
---the good ole times were better, mhm! I bet.
nowadays, you can't speak your won mind freely

General Comment"If you were me, could you defend
the given rights to all the men?" Awesome song! This lyric is the one that stands out for me, though... the rest is self explanatory, but I think this has something to do with peoples rights being taken away, maybe it's a prediction of the future of the US?

General CommentContinuing SOAD... same ol' same ol' political stuff.

Song is alright, kind of boring with the same guitar riff throughout and no real change.

General CommentThe song in general is Daron's overall distaste of Serj Tankian's world views which caused a rift in System of a Down. Serj Tankian's pessimistic view of the world is not shared by Daron Malakain. Also critical of George Bush (obviously)

    >>Let's fuck the world with all it's trend
    >>They say it's all about to end...

"They" is people sharing Serj's world view.

    >>If you were me, could you defend
    >>the given rights to all the men?

Serj has expressed a willingness to save mankind and offers hope for people who will listen. Daron doesn't see a reason why these people should be saved.
