Archaic methods transfer
Through well in the face of mass denial.
Bitterness fuels the mode
For the escape of mediocrity.
Stepping the grate, shattered nerves
Ground down to a glass edge
Carrying me away.

Bloodletting a favorite game of solitaire.
A suicide mission destined to fail,
A moving ladder to climb taking me away.
I wouldn't have it any other way

well, this for one, isnt a Lamb Of God song, its Burn The Priest lol, which was Lamb Of God before they had the name, but Burn The Priest was just as badass

"Nerves ground down to a glass edge carrying me away, bloodletting a favorite" i think hes either talking about cutting himself like a little emo kid, or glass edge being a drink idk though

I'm pretty sure It's actually about the way people handled getting sick in Ancient Greece. Claudius Galen (129-200 AD) came up with the idea of "Bloodletting." When someone was sick during that era, it was believed that letting out the "bad blood" would let out the illness. I guess it turned out that this bloodletting concept was not such a good one lol

Archaic methods transfer through well in the face of mass denial.

Meaning: Being crucified is an old and out-dated form of execution. Christianity really took off after Jesus' death, proving that "archaic methods transfer through well in the face of mass denial."

Bitterness fuels the mode for the escape of mediocrity.

Meaning: Mankind kills one another for entertainment.

Stepping the grate, shattered nerves ground down to a glass edge carrying me away.

Meaning: Jesus' lungs were crushed by His own body on the cross. Gravity pulled His rib cage down, destroying His lungs. It must have felt like a glass edge.

Bloodletting a favorite game of solitaire.

Meaning: Mankind kills one another for entertainment. Jesus lets his blood be poured out for us.

A suicide mission destined to fail, a moving ladder to climb taking me away.

Meaning: Jesus could have saved Himself by calling on his angels, but He didn't give in. Now imagine breathing when your lungs are being crushed. It would be like a moving ladder, because your chest goes up and down when you take a breath. Jesus is dying slowly.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Meaning: Jesus lets his blood be poured out. He saves us from sin.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
