Liar, liar
You never called
But I'll be just fine
Yeah, I'm fine
Sleep well

Well this never made much sense to me
So I sleep alone, yeah
'Cause you are the same as I always remembered
I'll always remember

Where was all your money?
(Where was all your money?)
You said where is all your money?

You like it more than ever
And I cannot stand this
Because you like it more than ever

It was just, just a goddamn mistake
(Stay)
Well stay at home
Because you're way too good at taking
Love is too much
I'll be just fine in here
(Stay)
Stay at home, because it's always the same
Darling, you fucked up

La la la la la la, oh oh

I guess I love to spend all my time
Yeah, up in my own brain
Because I can believe the words
Coming up out of your face

Where was all your money?
(Where was all your money?)
You said where is all your money?

Cause you like him more than ever
And I cannot stand this
Cause you like him more than ever

I guess they all knew
Somebody draw the sun
Those states made me distant
Oh, tell me it's always better
And tell me it's better

No
Well I can't believe you're still in the valley
No
Wasting away
I guess they
(It was just, just a goddamn mistake)
Got the best of me
And got your all
(Stay)
(Stay at home, cause you're way too good at taking)
I'm wasting away
I guess they...
(Love is too much but I'll be just fine in here)
(Stay)
(C'mon, stay at home, because it's always the same)
I'm wasting away
I guess they...

General CommentI dont know but as I relate to it right now it was about someone who was with a manipulator. The person might have made the escape before but got sucked back in by the manipulation and now they realize the mistake that they made in the first place.

General Commentmaybe this song is about a guy who REALLY likes a girl, and she brings out the best in him and everything but it turns out that no matter how much he tries she likes that other guy, and maybe she was taking advantage of him? i dunno. its just a guess really =/. i don't get the money and the stealing parts though.

General Commentit could be about a guy who messed up or something and the girl he likes left him saying she'll come back but she never does.

i agree on it maybe being about him getting taking advantage of by her.

along with her not coming back, he knows it and is like "It was just, just a god-damn mistake" and sees how things are changing so he's just going to stay the same. i don't know either but that's my guess.

General Commentyou got some lyrics wrong.
    this is from the booklet.
I don't know if they are fine, but i'm sure they might be.

It was just a god damn mistake,
    Stay at home,
Because you're way too good at taking.
    Love it's too much,
    I'll be just fine here,
    Stay at home.
    Because it's always the same

General CommentWith drug references in other songs, to me, this sounds like he fell for a girl that was into all that stuff but she only liked him for what he could provide for her (money and/or drugs). And when he couldn't, or chose not to, she was over him.

General CommentHeBrokeAString is right, in my opinion.

Seems similar to December from the previous album... he's with a girl on drugs. She needs his money to feed her obsession.

The drugs are talking: "Because I can believe the words
Coming up out of your face"

And he left her behind, only to find out, when he returns, that she's "still in the valley, wasting away" on drugs.

General CommentYeah, "you're way to good at taking" makes no sense.
    Taking what, exactly?
    it's definitely "faking".
that makes SO much more sense.

This song woulda helped me out a year and a half ago.
    Tremendously.

General CommentTaking his love of course, wether it be physically or chemically.
Or possibly his money as mentioned above.

    It's definitely "taking."

My InterpretationTo me, this song tells a story from two perspectives. It tells a tragic story of a girl struggling with addiction and her lover giving up hope. When he sings, it seems to be a recounting of all the terrible things that they've been through while also remembering the good. When she sings, it's distant and wavering.

"Tell me it's alright, tell me it's better."

    Powerful; heartbreaking.
