There's this place that I know
Where they take everything slow
You're the one I would take with me
It's the perfect place to be
With a girl like you
If you wanted to we could leave right now
It's the perfect time, it's the perfect place
We should get away, come on let's go

Did you mean what you said?
Cause it sounded so true
Is real really dead
Cause it looked so damn good
Read you loud and clear
I know I'm all done here
Let's go

General CommentI hear that song "Heroin" by the Velvet Underground might be about heroin. Other than that, I'm not so sure.

Anyway, the part I love here is "Did you mean what you said? / cause it sounded so true / is real really dead / cause it looks so damn good / Read you loud and clear / I know I'm all done hear / let's go." It speaks to me about an old relationship that has finally been allowed to die, leaving the singer free to move on with someone new. It resonates for me.

    Or maybe it's about heroin.

General CommentIts about asking his longtime girlfriend to marry him and her saying yes. I know who it is and lets just say she is gypsy gorgeous limber and probably his dream girl (also of Russian descent). Devotchka has been on a crazy ride as of late with their recent exposure and climbing pop culture status. For the Nick Urata, he found his love, I think he's thinking about becoming more domestic with his love.
By the way, I am incredibly jealous of this girl and am trying with all my might to stifle my impulse to contact Nick Urata and profess my undying devotion to him.

General CommentI think I read in Rolling Stone that it was about drug use. Maybe heroin... I could be wrong though.

General Commentthe lyrics say enough, if it was about heroin it would say heroin in the title but it's not so stop being retarded. a new world is a term for reconciliation in some circles, so the lyrics definately reflect reconciliation.

General CommentThe end lyrics are the absolute best part of this song as a whole. His voice and pitch conveys the extremities experienced in love. Probably the most moving part of the entire piece, great resonance of emotion. I could listen to that part on repeat and never get tired of it.
