"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
A is for all the times I bit my tongue
B is for bullshit and you fed me some
C is for charity and now you're mine
D is for dollars, but you're counting dimes
E is the exit sign backstage at shows
F is my favorite letter, as you know
G is for God loves a patient man
Who spends his days living in ego land
You always write it in the cheapest key
You always blame it on the cheapest key
You always play me in the cheapest key
They say the start's always the hardest part
But like you know, baby, I'm all warmed up
Sometimes I wanna shout your name out loud
And let them in on what you're all about
You always write it in the cheapest key
You always blame it on the cheapest key
You always play me in the cheapest key
But don't get me wrong
Here comes my softer side and there it goes
'Cause I've been on the road too long to sympathize
With what you think you're owed
You always write it in the cheapest key
You always blame it on the cheapest key
You always play me in the cheapest key
The cheapest key, the cheapest key

'Cause I've been on the road too long to sympathize

You always write it in the cheapest key

You always play me in the cheapest key
The cheapest key, the cheapest key

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Wow, I cagn't believe that no one has commented on this song. Any ways, the meaning of this song should be quite hjhhgjghj dfdfdf oblivous, just about a girl who is with a terrible guy. What I would like to comment on however is the cleaverness of the A B C D E F G part of the song. I believe that she used those letters because they are the letters of music notes and as this song is called the cheapest key, listing all of them is quite approperate. Just my imput
sorry for the hjhhg ect, i couldn't figure out why my typing had gone off of the page
Good catch on the A-G being the music scale. I wondered why she stopped at G, but that fits perfectly.
The idea came from a friend of hers who got paid to transcribe music for an artist. Some keys are harder to transcribe, and therefore he would be paid more for them. But this artist would always write songs in the cheapest keys just so he wouldn't have to pay a lot of money.
