Fire rages in me
Never want to see the roses on your door
Glasses separates our touch
Soaring into the unknown skies fearing what we're fighting for

This is a war we cannot win!

Our last time to make stars collide right before our eyes
Believe in everything
Everything you've ever known
Reciting words we lost
These years will never be untold
I won't be alone

Fire rages in me
Daylight fights through the night with the cries of redemption
The sun ignites the light in our eyes

And is this possible!

Our last time to make stars collide right before our eyes
Believe in everything
Everything you've ever known
Reciting words we lost
These years will never be untold
I won't be alone

This time we fight
Side by side
You and I
This time we fight
Side by side
You and I

The bringers of light
The teeth in the night
The teeth in the night
The bringers of light
The teeth in the night
I won't be, won't be alone

Haha It sort of makes me laugh when people try to say these songs are directly about final fantasy, like thats cool right? these guys are way too poetic for low end that, they obviously use the inspiration from the game towards writing lyrics for a bigger purpose... not for writing lyrics about the game haha. but anyway I love this song. To me it struck me as a guy lost a girl but its bigger than that. He talks about the worlds struggles and cries out to her saying they will only fail going through the fight alone. "Reciting words we lost these years will never be untold, I won't be alone" Saying that things said between them, words they meant, can be lost but never unsaid or taken back. He will not be alone even if she falls in her own lonely path and gives up. He at least, will still fight. So idk on that but this is my interpretation. probably could go different ways :)

in my opinion, this song resembles possibly a couple who have been fighting and fighting through their time together and it just seems like nothing works {"this is a war we cannot win!"} but they can't give up because of the love they found so they want to continue to try

"this time we fight side by side, you and i"

there's a good chance that i'm wrong though...... lol

great song though, great album.... i'm just very surprised that there is only one comment besides mine on this song..... it's amazing

favorite line..... "daylight fights through the night with the cries of redemption"..... i actually saw this and thought it was wrong and that it was actually "price of redemption" but who knows......

This song is about Final Fantasy 10 as well. Most of the songs on 'wires' are about Final Fantasy X. This one describes the final battle between Tidus and Sin.

It talks about Tidus fighting with his father, Jecht, throughout the entire game. Tidus openly admits that he hates his father various times throughout the game because Jecht left, rather was taken, when Tidus was very young.

Jecht was labeled as "sin", the final boss, but at the end, it is Tidus fighting Jecht, yet they both want the same thing. Jecht wants to defeat sin, yet he is sin.

And this is the last chance for them to do so, to finish the fight and defeat "sin" forever.

"Fire rages in me." (The beginning of a life. You're new to the world and want to learn and grow.)

"Soaring into the unknown skies, fearing what we're fighting for" (It's a reference to the future; not knowing what lies before you. It scares you.)

"This is a war we cannot win" (Nobody 'wins' life, everybody dies.)

"Our last time to make stars collide right before our eyes." (Live, you never know when your last day of life is. Make something fun happen every day.)

"Believe in everything, everything you've ever known." (Gain belief, don't live your life empty. Or possibly, believe in whatever you've been told.)

"Reciting words we lost, these years will never be untold" (Stories being passed down from generation to generation. It's like learning your family history. You won't be forgotten)

"Daylight fights through the night.. (If you didn't have a great day, there's another day coming for you to spend.) ..with the cries of redemption." (You can try something new.)

"The sun ignites the light in our eyes" (A new beginning; a fresh new day to change things.)

"And is this possible?" (In your life, you're going to come to things that are going to make you question whether it's possible or not. You're going to try irregardless because it's human nature. The impossible is the thing that surprises you the most.)

"This time we fight side by side, you and I" (Friendships, relationships, etc.)

"The bringers of light.. (Angels,) ..the teeth in the night" (Or demons. Depending on how you spent your life.)

"I won't be alone" (You're not the only one dying; everybody faces death.)

To sum everything up, I think this song is telling you to live and love your life, but to not fear death.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
