"God Bless The Child" as written by and Bruce Soord....
Oh my love what have I done (x2)
Well I'm doing it anymore
No I'm not doing it anymore
So take my mark

I'm done for so God bless the child (x4)
Oh my love what have I done (x4)

I'm not doing it anymore
No I'm not doing it anymore
(x4)

I'm done for so God bless the child (x4)

Take my mark and hold it tight (x4)
Take my mark and use it right (x4)

I'm done for so God bless the child (x12)

General CommentThese lyrics are so minmalist, but to the point. This song is surprisingly light in mood and detached for its subject matter.

General CommentSomeone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the composer and his wife lost a child sometime before this song was written. It seems like the roles are reversed, and the singer is dying, and the child will live on. Wishful thinking on his behalf, but very understandable. another painfully intimate song from TPT - the best band I've heard for an awfully long time.
