And everybody here is a cloud
And everybody here will evaporate
You came up from the ground
From a million little pieces, have you found where your place is?
Have you found where your place is?
Have you found where your place is?

You've been spending your time
Thinkin' about why you think so much
If there ever was a time
Now would be the time to see your time here is limited

Everybody here is a crowd
We all walk around with a million faces
Somebody turn the lights out
There's so much more to see in the darkest places
In the darkest places
In the darkest places

And everybody here is a cloud
And everybody here will evaporate
You came up off the ground
From a million little pieces, have you found where your place is?

Everybody here is waiting for the next creation
They say oh-oh-oh-oh
Everybody here is waiting for the next creation
They say go-go-go-go

Everybody here is a crowd
We each walk around with a million faces
You came up from the ground
From a million little pieces, have you found where your place is?
Have you found where your place is?
Have you found where your place is?

General CommentI love the meaning behind this song. In "Becoming one of you," Craig mentions that we're all of the same dirt. Everyone is always questioning an afterlife, but there is at least one certainity. Our bodies are made of dirt ("you came up off the ground from a million little pieces"), and as mentioned in this song as well as "when water comes to life," we consist mostly of water. These elements leave us when we die and bring life to others. It's a comforting thought and actually makes death seem like a beautiful cycle...to always be a part of and connected to everything...

General Commentit's a metaphor for individuality and also how we are all esentially the same, of the same stuff, and all looking to find ourselves....

    General CommentIt's pretty simple actually...

We all came from the same place and will all return to the same place. Our time here is limited, but we will last forever in a way.

General CommentI agree whole heartedly with all of the admiration expressed towards this song. The album is called feel good ghosts for a reason.

I find the central water theme of the album quite intriguing as well we see evaporation as a key point here and the million little pieces are mentioned again in no one said it would be easy.

All together I believe that cloud cult's overall contentness with not knowing or understanding is prominent throughout this whole album.

General CommentI love this song. It's probably disturbing to some people- that we are just particles gathered together and one day we will just break down, but I find it very calming.
We are all the same materials, but we are all different inside and we will find our place on earth before we return to our place in the natural world.

General CommentI love this song. It is so true.
We all might try to create our own identity, and try to be superior or different than others, but in the end, we're all the same and equal.

My InterpretationIt is apparent that these lyrics say different things to different people. I hear it as a call to arms. This world has gotten pretty screwed up; that much is obvious, now what are we going to do about it? Just go on skipping and dancing our way into extinction? Is it all out of our hands anyway? And if so, does that give us the right to just be complacent? Wake the F up people!
