Took a drive, to the hillside, suburban lawns.
A picket fence says, Cadillac says, I bought a home.
Now I'm a black man, in white man's land, no problem.
A white casper in every window looking like he's seen a spook.

Yeah, ( Hey, get out) and people talk like there goes the neighborhood. (Hey, get out)

House for sale signs in every front yard looks like tombstones.
I'm not a cracking thief for ever, what have I done?
as I'm walking down first street, the moon is full.
I'm hearing voices in all directions, and they say "who's haunting who?"

Yeah, ( Hey, get out) and people talk like there goes the neighborhood. (Hey, get out)

It's a super - scary - super scary area - scary - super scary area.

It's a super - scary - super scary area - scary - super scary area.

General CommentThis song is from the Mighty Joe Young demo (Pre-STP, same members) and is obviously about a black man moving into a white neighborhood, and the white people reacting negatively.
