When it all falls down at once.
Gonna try to get some sleep.
And the contents of this bed...
Have shattered to pieces.
I have a knack for feeling lost.
All those times I couldn't eat.
Like I could barely love.
I'm getting tired of screaming.
(Getting tired of screaming)

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

Maybe I have said too much.
Or merely haven't said enough.
All these words they come undone.
I'm getting lost in the meaning.
I'm feeling coldness in my thoughts.
I'm getting frozen all alone.
In a world that we destroyed...
I'm trying to pick up the pieces.

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

All you've loved...
Leave yourself, you drift away in your arms.
Hoping as you catch me,
caught before I hit the ground.
I'm dying for you to hold me.
The feeling is forever happy.
All at once, all at once.

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.
The world falls down,
we all forget where to begin.
The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The world collapses.
You hold it in...

The sun comes up,
and now you have a chance again.

(So sleep now, together, in peace)

Is this the first positive song by The Used? No other comes to mind, pretty refreshing this one... starting over, having a chance... I could really use its message right now.

I just listened to it (paying attention) today, nice arrangements and stuff.

scarecrow826, oh shut the fuck up. You don't even fucking realize the point of this kind of music at all. Yeah, I hate people who bitch about how bad their lives is but thats not what this is. It's fucking talking about feelings. Or are you such an insensitive prick that you don't know what thats like?

I pity your lack of acknowledgment and understanding of the human brain and emotions.

Do the world a favor and eliminate yourself from existence for your close-minded bullshit.

this is a SONG MEANINGS site...I cannot put any more emphasis how obvious that is. Scarecrow, it's good that you have an opinion of your own but wtf!?! does your bitch session about 'the used' have to do with the URL of this site. shakes head Ironic how the EP is 'Shallow believer' if I didn't know any better the used foresaw your comment before you even wrote it you asswipe.

    I friggin sick of seeing comments posted by haters. F-OFF ! SONGMEANINGS.NET SONG-FRIGGIN-MEANINGS !!!!!!! >=@ "%#@&&^%$%##(&)&!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I like this song very much =D I like their new songs . I like change and it's not bad to listen to at all. The meaning is obvious I guess but I'll write what i think it means anyways. I think this song is about a relationship, any relationship, between two people that ended badly and the person in this POV of the song is going through the process of being emotionally wrecked and having regrets, wallowing in their sadness. "In a world that we destroyed... I'm trying to pick up the pieces." I think it means they're trying to fix the relationship

They realise that there's always hope, symbolism of the 'the sun comes up'. New beginnings "The world collapses, you hold it in" to me means that the person has had the weight of the world on their shoulders and it was kept in balance but then disaster hit and they can't rise up again emotionally. On the outside they look calm but in the inside they're in deeper turmoil. they bottled up their emotions.

It's a bit like saying relationships always have it's highs and lows but true love endures all obstacles and gives chance for new beginnings.

I find it funny that a bunch of girls are ganging up on me because of how much they love the Used. What a disillusioned, pathetic state you are in.

I have a personal stake in my dislike for crap like this music, but did it occur to you that I might be just someone who disses on this stuff for kicks? Don't you think I might find it HILARIOUS when a bunch of pmsing wenches go off because people they will never meet's credibility is in question?

Do NOT go toe to toe with me, and spread your crap over to myspace, you miserable children. This is a public site, I would prefer for you to not bitch at me about your personal problems on any site, because I don't care about you, or whatever it is all you clones stand for these days.

I am sorry to hear that you are so niave. I'm done insulting you, because that's obviously not helping anything since all you do is throw back the same thing you hit us with in the first place.

That is pretty much all I have to say to you about that.

    Well, that and...

If you really are as old as you say you are on the internet, then learn to act more like it.

I'm not saying I'm more mature than you, it's just that you try to act like you're SO much better than us. But you're not.

You say we're so pathetic and we're such little emo clone miserable "children", but you're the one acting like a child for fucking around like this in the first place.

You were asking for people to give you shit about it, and that's why you posted.

You're dillusional if you label us 'emo'. Look up the TRUE meaning of that term, not the one MTV created just for ratings, before you go around putting bubble wrap boxes around us. Those who listen and love the used aren't 'emo'. We are people with NAMES. So don't coin us with a term that restricts our potential asswipe. We don't know you and you don't know us. For all we know ppl who post on bands like the used, could listen to metal like In flames, At the gates, Insomnium, SOAD, soilwork, unearth etc even friggin BRITNEY SPEARS !

Music doesn't define US. It should be something we like and listen too scarecrow.

And those ppl who refer to as myspace clones, are the whole GODDAMN world. Open your mind and eyes, you have a poor sense of judgement and lack of insight to hate on something as insignificant as that.

Go hate on something more worthwhile like your healthcare system, war, substance abuse, poverty, better yet YOURSELF.

You stop telling me I'm a child when you're searching me out on myspace, and I'll start listening to you, clones.

And for the record, I never said I was better than anyone, chemicalnirvana. I just have a better grip of reality than you do.

You're fourteen years old. You're searching me out on myspace to tell me I'm a douchebag and that I'm insecure if I respond to you.

Just think about that for two minutes.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
