"It's Not My Time" as written by Bradley Kirk Arnold, Matthew Darrick Roberts, Christopher Lee Henderson and Robert Todd Harrell....
Looking back at the beginning of this
And how life was
Just you and me and love and all of our friends
Living life like an ocean
But now the currents slowly pulling me down
It's getting harder to breath
It won't be too long and I'll be going under
Can you save me from this

'Cause it's not my time,
I'm not going
There's a fear in me
It's not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Oh, I won't go

I look ahead to all the plans that we made
And the dreams that we had
I'm in a world that tries to take 'em away
Oh, but I'm taking 'em back
All this time I've just been to blind to understand
What should matter to me
My friend, this life we live
Is not what we have, it's what we believe

[Chorus]
It's not my time
I'm not going
There's a fear in me
It's not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
But, it's not my time
I'm not going
There's a wield in me
Now I know that
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Oh, but I won't go

I won't go

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be something you can see

[Chorus]

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more than you can see

I won't go!
No I won't go down!
Yeah.

General Commentthis song is great... i think its about how you feel when it seems liike the world is against you and you feel like the world is coming down on you. Sometimes when you feel like shit you just wish you could die but this talks about getting through it cause u always can

General CommentCan't wait for the new 3 Doors Down album after hearing this song. It's not there greatest song but it is so damn catchy. It seems like the song is about this guy in a relationship thats about to fall apart and this is him saying that he wants to work it out before it all goes downhill

General CommentOh, I just love this song! :] And most of their songs.

I think this song is about life pulling you away from the one you love. It starts as something good and they're just taking things as they are, but then something happens that causes them to separate (like this song sounds like the singer is moving away). He believes that things will work out in their favor, but deep inside, he's scared of what could really happen. The reality is that he has no choice. So I see this as him objecting to whatever he's being forced to go away to, so that he can stay with the one he loves.

My thinking is kinda messed up right now, so this may be off :]

General CommentI agree that the song is probably about a person thats drifting away from his love, but doesn't want this to happen. (of course But I won't go! No I wooooon't gooooo down!)
I think that the singer is being rejected or misunderstood by the one he loves, pointing @ the lines:
There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more you can see

And the singer in this case doesn't want to give in to this fact.

General CommentThis song is so awesome, it's so catchy, it's one of those songs that you don't mind having stuck in your head. The lyrics are perfect, and I agree that it's about a relationship that is ending, but he wants to work it out. All in all a really great song and really relateable!!

General CommentPerhaps I am over simplifying this, but I do not see this about a romantic relationship directly. To me, I see it from the perspective of the singer going through something life threatening. Maybe something like a cancer diagnosis, etc. He is saying this to his love interest and/or his family. He is saying "The news is grim, and I know you see the future as being bleak for me, but while I am scared, I've had too good of a life and I'll be damned if I'm going out like this."

A truly fantastic theme for the human spirit.

General CommentI think this song is pretty much related to his near death experience in his car accident with his wife.

General Commenti pretty much got a huge war referance to this song!
It makes sense especially with the second verse and the chorus.
I agree with the other meanings as well though. It could mean alot of things.

General Commentit means he's not gonna go away until he fixes something that he's regreted for a long time

also a kis near me got killed in a car crash and they played this as loud as hell on a PA system... it was miles from my house and i could hear it in my backyard... thats an awesome way to remember the kid cause his favorite band was three doors down.
