"Moratorium" as written by Alanis Morissette and Guy Sigsworth....
I've never been this accountable-less and within
I've never known focuslessness on any form

I've never had this lack of ache for dalliance
To let go and let God in ways I have never even imagined

I declare a moratorium on things relationship
I declare a respite from the toils of liaison
I do need a breather from the flavors of entanglement
I declare a full time out from all things commitment

I've never let my grasp soften fingers like this
I've never been careless other-less like autonomy's twin

Ah to breathe
Stop looking outside
Stop searching in corners of rooms
Not my business or timing

I've never known freedom from intertwining
I start again this time for keeps in my skin I'm residing

[Chorus: x2]

General CommentI Love Alanis... She is the most one of the most brilliant writers (Jewel, Jack Johnson, and Jars of Clay are the only others who could even come close). But I think this song is about stopping in the midst of chaos and just breathing. I am excitied about the new album!

General Commentthis album has a lot of "I'm getting over my recent breakup" songs. and 2 styles: dance or boring. I like the album nevertheless, but c'mon, jagged little pill and sfij were more developed than this...

General CommentI have to say, I hate the half-hearted "God" references. Give it a rest... :/

General CommentGOOD song writer. I like the song. Obvious meaning....gonna chill and swear off men (women)...just breathe, work, enjoy friends, work some more, concentrate on getting physically and emotionally healthier, and dance. Yes, dance. Don't hurry life. One day you're ten years older and wonder what happened to yesterday. One foot in front of the other...slowly but confidently.
