"Bitterscene" as written by Sam Pluck, Sarah Bleach and Jacqueline Coombes....
You put me down and I picked you up
Waited around but you stood me up
And I've heard every excuse you made
Don't deny that you were always in my way

I stood around there all by myself
While you hung out with everyone else
If you want to know your greatest crime
It's that tonight your rhythm has gone out of time

And I know that you're a liar
Always sick and always tired
How come you won't let me into your bitterscene?

Started to speak but you asked me to stop
Said my opinions were over the top
And I tried to make things turn out right
But in the end it seems you weren't prepared to fight

How do you think that I want it this way?
There's so much talk yet there's nothing to say
Yes, I've heard the rumors, know the score
I don't want to be a part of this no more

And I know that you're a liar
Always sick and always tired
How come you won't let me into your bitterscene?

I won't go where you want me to
No love lost between me and you
Never could be what you want me to be
We carried on for far too long, you see

And I know that you're a liar
Always sick and always tired
And I don't want to be into your bitterscene

And I know that you're a liar
Always sick and always tired
And I don't want to be into your bitterscene, can't you see?

What will you do?
Hanging around with all your friends tonight
Are you lonely too?
Can't you stand out and make it all alright?
Just wasting time...

My OpinionFrom the lyrics, this song is deceptively simple - same old thing: alienation, regret...
By the melodies, the lyrics take on a different portent. It goes to show, to appreciate the complexity and magic of some music, you really need to hold off from trying to "understand" a song by it's lyrics, and not read them until you've fully "digested" the music.
    This is a marvelous song.
