"Generation" as written by and Charles-andre/bouvier Comeau....
I'm sick of all this waiting
And people telling me
What I should be
What if I'm not so crazy
Maybe you're the one
Who's wrong not me

So what'cha gonna do
What'cha gonna say
When we're standing on top
And do it our way
You say we got no future
You're living in the past
So listen up
That's my generation

Hey ho, let's go
It's going down tonight
Hey ho, let's go
We're gonna do it
Till we die
Hey ho, let's go
Cause I, I
I've got no reason
To apologize
That's my generation

I don't need to say
I'm sorry
I do what everybody
Wants to do
It's not so complicated
Because I know you want
The same thing too

So what'cha gonna do
What'cha gonna say
When we're standing on top

And do it our way
You say we got no future
You're living in the past
So listen up
That's my generation

Hey ho, let's go
It's going down tonight
Hey ho, let's go
We're gonna do it
Till we die
Hey ho, let's go
Cause I, I
I've got no reason
To apologize
That's my generation

Don't need to say
I'm sorry
It's not so complicated
Cause I know you want
The same thing too

Hey ho, let's go
It's going down tonight
Hey ho, let's go
We're gonna do it
Till we die
Hey ho, let's go
Cause I, I
I've got no reason
To apologize
That's my generation

Hey ho, let's go
It's going down tonight
Hey ho, let's go
We're gonna do it
Till we die
Hey ho, let's go
Cause I, I
I've got no reason
To apologize
That's my generation

General CommentIt's about rebellion against adults in general, I think. Or at least that's what I though when I first heard it.

General CommentIt's basically telling the older generation that you may disagree with how things are now and how we live these days but it's our generation now and we're taking over.

General CommentI'm surprised this song has so few comments.
It's so catchy and I can never sit still when I listen to it.

It's basically telling the previous generations that you can't tell us who to become or what to do with our lives. We're going to do what we want and suceed at it. You say we're wrong, but you're wrong about us.

General CommentThat's pretty much the general reason for the song's being; a lot of bands and people commented that Simple Plan just doesn't play the right music or aim at the right crowd. This could be considered their response to that, in the sense that they're trying to aim for something new, a future featuring a different style that focuses on both problems and solutions of music and real life. Their generation is different than others, and so will their choices and lifestyles be.

That's how I remember hearing it anyway.

General CommentTo me, it seems to be about haters. But it's a bit different to "Shut up"

It's like, people telling SP that they're too soft, and they don't rock out enough like, 80s/early 90s bands. Mostly metal. And SP are saying that's a different generation, and this is a completely new generation. Their generation.

A little bit like "I hate Jimmy Page" by Mindless Self Indulgence (A song which is completely about forgetting about the past, because this is NOW) but a whole lot different as well.

General Commenti love this song. its amazing.

i'm not quite sure what its about.. you can kinda take it two different ways. like, it could be about what FashionZombies said or it could be about how its just people their age who do/did that and its just who they are.

General CommentI think this song is about, how all the older generations are going on and on , about how " the kids of today aren't going to get anywhere , all they want to do is party / get drunk / do drugs "
but Simple Plan is saying, that there may be people like that in their/our generation, but theres also people who aren't.. and they are going to be what they want. Like saying, that the past generations should back off, and let us live our way.. because theres nothing wrong with how we're living.

General CommentWhat we're doing is a right thing anyway, for us - that's SP means
Don't need to say I'm sorry - we're believing in our doings - very simple meaning - that's reason for few comments ;)

    General CommentSo whatcha gonna do?
    Whatcha gonna say
    When we're standing on top
    And do it our way?
You say we got no future
    You're living in the past
    So listen up
    That's my generation

yep! absolutely... not just for haters but those who manipulate lives of other people as if they were wind-up toys.
