Step up into the ring
You might have just met your match
You can't control that thing
I would not take that chance
Hey I am the red cape diver
You can talk that talk, can you walk that walk
I am the red cape diver
Ah it fires torpedoes
So kiss your Lolita
Make sure she knows you might
Die
hug your bambinos
Have your last meal
Make sure they know you're scared
Ah I don't want to die
Tell my momma that I love her
Tell my poppa the same thing
And when I step up into the ring
Pray for me, I'm gonna need it
Both of our eyes lock eye to eye
Battle to the death, which one will die
I'm so scared, I don't want my mom to die
Or my dad or my dog or my best friend
What if my boo boo died, what would I do without them
What would they do without me, what would I do without...
It fires torpedoes, I'm hit, I'm down

General CommentVery close, but not quite.
It's about a Matador who is telling his loved ones that he loves them, before he heads off to work (just in case he doesn't make it out the other end of the day alive)

General CommentUmm where it says "I'm so scared, I don't want my mom to die" I think he says "I'm so scared, and I want my mommy there. "

General CommentNo, I'm looking at the lyric booklet right now. It says "fires torpedoes" at the end, not "fired". And it is "I don't want my mom to die".

As to the meaning, the matador thing makes sense, but how do torpedoes fit into that (but on the other hand, wtf's a boo boo?).

I almost thought it sounded like a video game character. I can just see the gamer sitting in his chair, going, "What the hell, it fires torpedoes!"

General CommentIt's definitely about a matador going to work. An interviewer from some magazine specifically asked what this song was about, and Eric Nally explained the day-to-day life of a matador. (I think the magazine was Absolute Punk?)

As for the torpedoes, ever heard of a metaphor?
They could easily represent the horns of a bull.

Hands down my favorite Foxy song.
Seen every one of their shows in Cincy since the were Train of Thought.
My high school band actually played a show with them at a swim club during the Flamingo Trigger era....so amazing.
My old band? Shitty in comparison.
