"Get Me Right" as written by and Christopher Andrew Carrabba....
I made my slow way home
Limping on broken bones
Out of the thickest pine
Across the county lines
On to your wooden stairs
I know you can repair
I know you've seen the light
I know you'll get me right

Right
Right
Right

I own a sinners heart
I know the rain falls hard
I know the currency
I know the things you'll need
I hope he hears my prayers
I see you cut your hair
I know the saving type
I know you'll get me right

Right
Right
Right

But, Jesus I've fallen
I don't mind the rain if
I meet my maker
I'll meet my maker clean

But, Jesus the truth is
I've struggled so hard to believe
I'll meet my maker
I'll need my maker

To cure of my doubting blood
And drain me of the sins I love
And take from me my disbelief
I know it should come easily
But it remains inside of me
It battles and devours me
It cuddles up the side of me
And whispers it convinces me I'm

Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right
Right

General CommentTo me it means that he needs God to guide him, to set him straight, and to help him everyday, because it's hard to keep your mind on whats really important with the world around you.
Like he needs to focus on God and not let the sins of the world devour him.

General CommentI made my slow way home
    Limpin' on broken bones
    Out of the thickest pine

I know you'll get me right
    Right

    Oh Jesus, I've fallen
I don't mind the rain if
I meet my maker, I meet my maker clean,
    but Jesus, the truth is
i've struggled so hard to believe
i'll meet my maker, i need my maker

To cure me of my doubting blood

General CommentIn Christian terms, one is "right" when he is acceptable to God. We need to get right with God because of the great chasm between divine and mortal, between holy and sinner. At first the person is pictured as struggling within himself. "Broken bones and thickest pine" here are symbols for the sins within. Until he finds his way to where Jesus is--"your wooden stairs". He knows that only Jesus can repair him. Remember that Jesus was a carpenter here on earth. The person realizes his sins ("fallen"), that he once loved these sins, and how he struggles because of these--"rain falls hard", "battles", "devours",
"cuddles". The currency means the price to pay for this, that is, the life and blood of Christ. The things God needs are asking for forgiveness for these sins and asking Him to be personal Lord and Savior. These are the things that gets him right with God. "Cut your hair" pictures God's humanity. "To meet his Maker clean" means he becomes acceptable to God, he is drained from the taints of sins! All the while, he is struggling to believe, doubting, has disbelief; but God only needs enough faith from us to call to Him, just as the person here did, already God convinces us that we are right.

General CommentWow, I'm so glad he wrote one with such an obvious religious point of view. This song is so relate-able and it give me hope to know that I'm not alone and that others are going through similar things. Ah, I love this song so much!!!! The simplicity is so calming and fits so perfectly.

Song MeaningYou're all so wrong in what this song really means. Chris is obviously struggling to believe in Jesus, and although things get tough for him, he realizes that they are mundane and not spiritual. As unaccepted and morally wrong he feels about not believing, he feels he needs a tangible reason - something more than philosophy to be able to believe. Because he's never found that, he begs for "God" to reveal himself. As much as he wants to drain himself from doubt, he knows, in the end, he's right for being a nonbeliever, because spiritualism doesn't click for him. He wants for God to take his "disbelief", but it "remains inside of" him, and eventually "convinces" him he's right.
