Crack open the good times
On a street corner bustin rhymes
but you fell between the lines.
They all laugh, become a joke
Am i crazy baby let's all hope
for narrow halls, crunching drums
I've got the sweets sugar but that's all.

Tell me what it's worth
Tell me what it's worth

So tell us that we're spelling everything wrong
Negroes turn a blueish-grey when they're dead
That's funny 'cos ive just turned bright red
RED RED RED

Kill, kill, kill when everything starts to suck
Drownin all your sins boy well i geuss thats bad luck
The fact that your race is full of shit
I've got the sweets sugar but that's it.

Tell me what it's worth
Tell me what it's worth
woah woah
Clean your blades and start swinging
Don't stop till the red runs out
Till no more joy pours out of your mouth

Tell me what it's worth (Don't, dont stop till the red runs out)
Tell me what it's worth (Don't, dont stop till the red runs out)
Tell me what it's worth (Don't, dont stop till the red runs out)
Tell me what it's worth (Don't, dont stop till the red runs out)
woah woah

General Commentcant believe no one has commented on this song yet.probably my favorite on the album.according to dev, this song is about the verbal abuse he suffers from people of his own race.just makes me think about all th hypocrisy and foolishness surrounding racial stereotypes.

also,it kind of sounds like conor oberst is singing backup vocals at the end.which can be a possibility since he recorded this album with the saddle creek crew in omaha.

General CommentI'm pretty sure it's "the good times", he just pronounces time funny... also "bustin' rhymes"

General Commentjust got the full album last night...and i have to say i like.
I'm a sucker for a Hammond Organ and a Leslie.

I agree with those above. Fickle, foolish intraracial sterotypes. Though Dev comes across as a joker, this is a pretty deep song.

General CommentDefinite lyrics (from the abum booklet):

Crack open the good times on a street corner busting rhymes

They all laugh, become a joke, am I crazy baby? Let's all hope
For narrow halls and crunching drums, I got the sweets sugar but that's all

So tell us that we're spelling everything wrong, and Negroes turn a blueish-grey when they're dead
That's funny cos I've just turned bright red!
Kill, kill, kill when everything starts to suck, drowning all your sins, well I guess that's bad luck
And the fact that your race is full of shit, I got the sweets sugar but that's it

Clean your blades, start swinging, don't stop until the red runs out
Until no more joy pours out your mouth

General CommentThis song gets to me so easily. Much like Dev, I get the same thing from the same people. It's all because I don't act the same as them and don't like rap music or hip-hop. Great song, and a great album.
