Glamor and fashion
Models and magazines
A striking runway entrance
Beauty and passion
Stardust and high class scenes
Of popular teens
When I lived in Denver
I met a millionaire
With ribbons in her blond hair
I still remember
She was like a princess
Straight from a dreamy castle in the air

So lovely
She was everything to me

Both alone in the dark
We longed to see the sun
Rise over the Bering Strait
I was sick of the west
When I turned 21
So I moved to the Sunshine State
We played golf on the moon
And tennis on the sun
Like athletes in the afternoon
The solar flares burned my arms
And made her make-up run
On our super-lunar honeymoon

I was the youngest son of a congressman
And everything was my fault
She was a gymnast
Happily swinging on the uneven bars
Tucked in a somersault

So lovely
She was everything to me

So lovely
She was everything to me

Both alone in the dark
We longed to see the sun
Rise over the Bering Strait
I was sick of the west
When I turned 21
So I moved to the Sunshine State
We played golf on the moon
And tennis on the sun
Like athletes in the afternoon
The solar flares burned my arms
And made her make-up run
On our super-lunar honeymoon

    My Interpretation

This song is about a girl he messed things up with and he misses her. "The solar flares burned my arms" the solar flares he referring to are the problems in their relationship, and he made her cry because the lyrics say "and made her makeup run". He still remembers everything about her, so he used metaphors throughout the song to portray everything she liked and everything about this special girl.

I hope you found this helpful, it's just my opinion :)

I think this song is about a girl who he really liked, but she was really popular so he daydreamed about her and them on their honeymoon, which consisted of unrealistic things like going to space. Also it just has that daydreamy feel to it, ya know?

I love that this song talks about Denver, and even calls it glamorous lol

I live here, so I think it's cute that he thought of it and the millionaire-girl that way :)

to me, this song is about a guy and a girl who broke up cuz their relationship was awkward and they both knew they werent meant to be i guess

"both alone in the dark, we long to see the sun rise over the bering strait"

    • when they are alone, they want to be somewhere else or with someone else and they didnt wanna be there

"i was sick of the west when i turned 21, so i moved to the sunshine state"

    • thoughts about trying something new just cuz your sick of it

"we played golf on the moon and tennis on the sun like athletes of the afternoon"

    • they did everything together, JUST TO FIT IN WITH EVERYONE ELSE (like athletes of the afternoon(status quo))

"the solar flares burned my arms, and made her make up run on our super lunar honeymoon"

    • in the end things didnt work out and it was not successful for both. THE END

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
