I know where I went wrong when I loved you more than I loved myself
I would have done anything for you

I learned when I realized you didn't love me the way that I loved you and now I know,
It hurts inside

[Repeat: x2]
I gotta get my heart back to the way it used to love,
The way it used to be, and the way it used to feel

Before I fell in love, fell in love, with you

All I want is true love, couldn't tolerate no more,
Loving someone who couldn't learn to love somebody else,
That's why my heart ain't been the same eh-eh

I see right now,where it's heading down,
Same road I seen before but no one told me,
That it would hurt this way, that my life wouldn't be the same eh-eh

That's why I gotta get my heart back

I gotta get my heart back to the way it used to love,
The way it used to be,and the way it used to feel

Before I fell in love, fell in love, with you

You ain't gotta lie, you see me looking fly
You want me on your arm ,well I ain't got the time
I seen it all baby, I been around the world
And it's a cold game, everywhere around the world
I see niggas crossed up cause they the realest
And all the realest niggas in the street don't got no feeling's
It come from being neglected,I'm so alone, and I'm on my own zone
Cause I'm trying to get my heart back

[Repeat: x2]
I gotta get my heart back to the way it used to love,
The way it used to be, and the way it used to feel

Before I fell in love, fell in love, with you

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
