it used to be the things you'd do
the hand i held the heart you moved
and i moved your heart too
and now i miss the way you'd laugh
do anything to get it back
i know you miss that too

if you said what you felt
we wouldn't be here right now
and if you meant what you said
this would have never run out
see, i'm trying to say
it didn't have to be this way
if you meant what you said that you felt
you'd be here right now

it used to be so hard to breathe
whenever you were next to me
could i do that to you?
and now i'm feeling quite the same
and so are you, and i'm to blame
i set my heart on you

General Commentit's talking about how their relationship ended and how he misses her, and wants her back. "and now i miss the way you'd laugh / do anything to get it back" and he believes the relationship wouldn't have ended if they each said what they felt, and said what they meant.

General Commentthis song contradicts what they say in the last song. the other one says "i play nonchalant and i know i'm the one you want"; " i'm sorry if this hurts/ i'm immune to your best efforts" as well as "i hope you sleep with your heart broken, both eyes shut and no words spoken". i wonder if these are directly related. maybe feeling first one way then the other.
