We'll sing just a little bit louder
And we won't stop till she can't handle it
We'll sing just a little bit slower
So she'll hang on to every single word

Over these past few years I feel like I've been cheating myself
I'm workin hard all the time
You take the easy way out
Over these past few years I've tasted who you're going to be
Candy coated on top
But so bitter underneath

Uh oh, uh oh
He's still watching
Oh no, Oh no
She's undressing him with her eyes, wasting his time, No No No (And I know that she'll never change)
and uh oh, uh oh
No one said it didnt hurt and
Everybody knows good things take a little work
So don't go giving up on the one, the one you love

Over these past few years we've driven right into a dead end
And we'll keep spinning our tires until one of us gives in
And we're approaching the question that I feel like we should ask
Should we just catch different rides, or just keep fixing the flats?

So close your eyes girl, and tell me what you see
The lives that we've created, were all because of me
So listen closely girl, cause our future is at stake
The reason we are ending: Because I give, you take

Close your eyes, and tell me what you see
A problem thats unchanging, a past thats haunting me

to me it's about a girl and boy thats fallen in love, and over the past few years, they keep constantly argueing, and now the boy isn't sure he loves the girl because he's the only one trying to fix their relationship. he's the only one making it useful and the girl just "takes" while he "gives". they just keep argueing and can't find any clarity and they can't decide whether to fix their problems or just decide that they weren't meant to be.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
