@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just great! "Woke up afraid of my shadow like genuinely afraid" is probably my favorite line. So epic.
also (i hate to be so nitpicky but it's the mountain goats so you know) there is an additional line after"Head outside most everyday to try to keep the wolves away," it's "Imagine nice things I might say." "mason jars" is plural in the song, and "and then the girl behind the counter, she asks me how i feel today, i feel like lovecraft in brooklyn."

Greene lost her hat shop and suffered poor health. Lovecraft could not find work to support them both so his wife moved to Cleveland for employment. Lovecraft lived by himself in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn and came to intensely dislike New York life[3]. Indeed, this daunting reality of failure to secure any work in the midst of a large immigrant population—especially irreconcilable with his opinion of himself as a privileged Anglo-Saxon—has been theorized as galvanizing his racism to the point of fear, a sentiment he sublimated in the short story The Horror at Red Hook[4]."

I'm just wondering... does anyone know what "copenation" is? I can't seem to find anything on the internet to help. Is it just a really obvious spelling mistake that I should have picked up?

I think the line is "if COMPANY SHOULD come," rather than "if copenation come."
