“Get back up, what are you waiting for this time? “
I’m over playing with this plight
But I’m still handcuffed, ball-gagged, facedown to the floor
And I’m waiting while I’m hating what I’m waiting for

It’s time to take ahold of what belongs to me
It’s time to walk away with no apologies
These voices in the mirror start quietly
And now they’re screaming back at me

Don’t back down
Holding on until my hands and mind are bleeding
This is my birthright
I’m so sick of feeling like I’m helpless
This is over tonight

Don’t back up, your ass is to the wall again and
Aren’t you sick of wasting so much time?
And yes it’s true you’re a fool if you think you were born
To be waiting while you’re hating what you’re waiting for

How could have I been so earthbound
with my heart in the depths and my face in the ground?
it’s time to uproot myself and move on

How could have I been making sound
When my mouth and my lungs had both fused to the ground?
it’s time to uproot myself and move on

The voices in my head have all begun to sing
(the voices in your head have all begun to sing)
and they sure as hell hope I am listening
(I sure as hell hope you are listening)

    General CommentWOOT, 1st to comment!

Anyways, I think this song is about not waiting around anymore. in a more deeper perspective, its about not caring about moving on, being so sick of waiting on this one person that you've grown to hate it, but you still do it for some reason, and this song is explaining what happens when you get sick of waiting around.

And it also kinda insults ppl who think the only thing they're here for is to just get hurt. Hence the " And yes it's true your a fool if you think you were born To be waiting while you're hating what you're waiting for"

Kinda like a 'get your ass up and move along' kinda song. I like it :)

If i'm completely wrong, please correct me, don't want to give off false meanings.

General Commenti never thought klay could make an instrumental like "baseline" into a song like this because "baseline" was so epic and awesome it sounded like a song on its own. i never thought vocals would work with it but klay did it! :D

"But I’m still handcuffed, ball-gagged, facedown to the floor" -- i see that as real vivid imagery and the thought of male bondage has always disgusted me. i down this only 'cause it's celldweller. ha.

General CommentThis song just reeks of inner turmoil if you ask me. It's not about 'being so sick of waiting on this one person that you've grown to hate it,' But more about growing tired of waiting on yourself to get back up after failing. Being tired of putting it off, and feeling 'helpless'.
about not being 'hand cuffed' and 'ballgaged' by your own emotions and not wanting to get back up and knowing you have to and 'waiting while your hating what your waiting for'. In short I guess I just think it's a struggle within some one... at least that's how it came across to me. I mean think about the song 'fadeaway'. Klayton uses these introspective alter egos to tear himself apart, It's his way of making himself better, fixing what's broken if you will. I don't know man, That's just my Opinion.

General CommentStill good, Shadenhand. Almost every song talks about his inner turmoil.

General Commentthis, and every other one of his songs is completely about inner turmoil. and its amazing that everyone in some way can relate . but its not waiting on someone, or anything like that. Its about the struggle of being an addict... the alternate voices in all of his songs is the "demon" inside. or the voice of the mistress that is heroin. its unreal how powerful his songs. If you have been there, its obvious, in all of them
