Black Heaven
Hold back the tears.
Your love runs loose in the wilderness.
Our silence pushes me under.

Soft whispering on the darker you love to me.
Like sunset, your love falls.
As sad times fill to your lurid love.
In darkness I know you...
The sunlight showers my rain.
Your movements obscure me, your laughter so lurid.

Darker my love grows...cold.
Darker my love
ooh ooh I love you,
like sunset, soon as your love falls
ooh ooh I love you
Darker my love...

Lock me on cut through the ink clips
your words..cut through my pain,
the starscream where we live.
Your arms hold hostage and knives.
A fire burns, our lips melt...
your eyes..blacker than hell!

They call darker my love grows...cold.
Darker my love
ooh ooh I love you
like sunset, soon as your love falls
ooh ooh I love you.
Darker my love...

Like heaven..hold back the tears,
our love runs loose in the wilderness
our silence pushes me under
soft whispering on your darker your love to me.
I hold you, you tell me and scream "we'll never grow older!"

Darker my love grows...cold
Darker my love........
ooh ooh I love you
Like sunset, soon as your love falls
ooh ooh I love you...
Darker my love

Like sunset, your love falls
as sad times fill your lurid love.
In darkness I know you.
The sunlight showers my rain.
Your movements obscure me.
Your laughter so lurid.

Darker my love grows...cold
Darker my love
ooh ooh I love you
Like sunset, soon as your love falls.
ooh ooh I love you
Darker my love....

Darker....
Darker....

General CommentSome history: Darker My Love was a song TSOL did for the movie Suburbia in 1982, during their brief transition into a post-punk new wave band (following the footsteps of their idols The Damned). The movie and soundtrack feature a live version of this song. A studio version was not included in the Beneath the Shawdows albums, although it was rumored to had been recorded. When the original core of TSOL started reuniting 15 years later, Darker My Love was the most requested song to be included on a new studio album, but all three records released in the new TSOL era have not included a new version.

Finally, TSOL has offered this song on their SnoCap STore on their myspace page. It sounds like the original recording with new vocals from Jack Grisham.

Obviously the song is about a love gone wrong, spoken through some very dark metaphor (eyes blacker than hell). Jack also admits , like sunset, as soon as she loves him less, he loves her more.
