Fight for felicity for me.
You know i cannot do it myself.
Stick your fingers in my mouth.
Pull my lips back and watch me smile.
Catch me on my troubled portion.
Maybe there is something there for you.
Look below her nylon stockings,
snapped the double notch and left untied.

Some king chooser will wind up with my number.
I'll go to sleep and
wait for my number to come.

Deep pockets may be deeper
and always had a nickel to spare.
Now the blood blister's,
the blister's black
as she washes her hands across her chest.
But if you're willing to call my machine,
flip the coins and watch me light up
hope the time is right for it
when its done
turn your back

King chooser has come for my number.
I'll just roll over on my back
and wait for my number to come.

General Commenti think this is about wanting to bring a stripper home.

General CommentIt's interesting to hear the difference between the original recorded version and the live one on the luxe and reluxe bonus disc- with the laid-back flat noise of the original and the raw, more emotionally driven performance on luxe. Personally I prefer the latter, but the original is also great.

General CommentAll I know is that "king chooser" makes me think of a higher being, and I guess the chorus says some sort of god or whatever will take him when his time comes, so until then he'll just lie in wait until his number comes up for him to go Home (= afterlife? who knows the fuck)

Song MeaningI think it's about waiting to be "discovered" by the music industry and being recognized as "legitimate" artists. The king chooser(S) are the industry, they'll have to find them because they're not happy that it works the way it does, and until then it's like a lottery and they'll wait for their numbers to come up. And the industry is a tight-ass whore money-wise.
