"Mask" as written by John Padgett and Adam Miller....
Black pyramid burn a hole in the sky
black pyramid take my baby away
from the edge of the desert to the bottom of the sea
black pyramid cast your shadow over me

I feel like life has no beginning
I feel like life it has no end

black pyramid flash of light in the sky
black pyramid took my baby away
he woke up in a field and forgot his name
black pyramid cast your shadow in the flame

I feel like life has no beginning
I feel like life it has no end.

    General CommentI love this song:)
Any interpretations of the lyrics though?
I don't understand what (or who) the Black Pyramid represents.

General Commentthe black pyramid was a tomb like regular pyramids build for pharoahs for the afterlife, basically she is talking about reincarnation, her baby died (black pyramid took my baby away) and then was reborn without any memory of his past life (woke up in a field and forgot his name) orr it could be what android said and she could be talking about aliens lol but i feel strongly towards my first statement

General CommentWhile the other interpretations are interesting, and could be others, I think iconography of one of the first recorded human civilizations, the pyramid, is a metaphor for society's indoctrinating effect on individuals. The baby is a metaphor for personal identity, taken away as it becomes part of the collective, leaving the chorus as a kind of wailing dirge for one's lost sense of identity, birth, and death, concealed by the "Mask" imposed by society, the Pyramid casting its shadow. The electronic and kind of droning music reinforces the idea of a machine processing individuals into society's more generic products.
