Won't you try
Won't you try
Won't you try

Find a way to need someone
Find a way to see
Find a way to need someone
and the sunshine will set you free

Won't you try
With love before we're gone

Won't you try
Won't you try
Won't you try

Saturday afternoon
Saturday afternoon
When your head is feeling fine
You can ride inside our car
I will give you caps of blue and silver sunlight for your hair
All that soon will be is what you need to see, my love

Won't you try
Won't you try

I do care that you do see

Is it time to leave, my lady
Yes it is, I know
Round about and everywhere; sunshine instead of snow
Times can't change that what I say is true

All is real
I'll come through for you
and I'll come through for you, my love

Won't you try
Won't you try
Won't you try
Won't you try

Saturday afternoon
Yellow clouds rising in the noon
Acid incense and balloons
Saturday afternoon
People dancing everywhere
Loudly shouting, I dont care
It's a time for growing and a time for knowing

Saturday afternoon
Saturday afternoon (Won't you try)
Saturday afternoon (Won't you try)
Saturday afternoon (Won't you try)
Won't you try (Saturday afternoon)
Won't you try (Saturday afternoon)
Won't you try
Won't you try

General Commentit's not cliche 60's with the lyrics if it's about a monumental, defining event of the time. The Human Be-In is a beautiful concept. the meaning of it is lost on the youth of today though. every one says "oh those crazy hippies, boy they were a wild bunch. they tripped on acid uhh whatever that means. ma and pa, and my teachers said don't do it so it must be bad." coming from a 19 year old, i wish something like this would happen in my lifetime but even the hippies are half assed these days. don't wanna do the drugs, or don't wanna look too freaky. c'mon now "all the freaky people make the beauty of the world." =). we've got artists like michael franti gettin the message out there in a totally new funky, fresh way, other jam bands, furthur (so exciting)!! but theres no one like the Airplane. Recently seen some legitimate psychedelic music get released, still doesn't quite compare to pioneers, but maybe it's happening. who knows. all i know is there's a Human Be-in every day in my mind my soul and my body.

General Commenthighlight of one of the most sorely underappreciated albums in history. pretty much about setting yourself free from your ego and pleading the listener to try too. maybe a little cliche 60's with the lyrics, but great message and brilliant song.

General CommentWritten about the Human Be-In which took place on a Saturday afternoon in January 1967 in Golden Gate Park. The beginning of an era. A time for growing and a time for knowing love, if only for a brief period. Perhaps it will happen again, but you have to try to make it so.... when the time is right.
