I hugged the wife and drove to work today,
It was only a few miles.
I was in no hurry but the lights where changing up ahead,
So I stepped on the gas.

I checked the Mac, I left it on overnight,
Downloadign all the latest files,
Peer to peer the torrent flows into my life
and I disconnect

We all know (We all know)
No need to remind us,
We all know (We all know)
But wont connect the dots
We all know (We all know)
Locked away inside us

We are dying for tomorrow,
We are living for today

I rush back home to my family
I got my son a brand new game
no need to cook, I picked up fast food along the way
and its finger lickin' good

Have you seen little Steve today?
Guess he's still up there in his room,
but if he comes down tell him
I'll be right here staring at the tube playing his game

We all know (We all know)
No need to remind us,
We all know (We all know)
But wont connect the dots
We all know (We all know)
Locked away inside us

We are dying for tomorrow,
We are living for today

Don't you think its rather warm tonight
especially for the time of year?
I turn up the air and pull my sheets
up to my chin, and I close my eyes

Can't relax, can't fall asleep
should I take another pill?
I turn on the light and light up
a cigarrete and smile, I've got it made

We all know (We all know)
No need to remind us,
We all know (We all know)
But wont connect the dots
We all know (We all know)
Locked away inside us

We are dying for tomorrow,
We are living for today

General Comment"This is the first song that differs from the Forevers storyline, for it narrates the story of one of the normal people living on Earth. The protagonist is an average middle-class worker (Ty Tabor), who tells about one of his days. He relates how he drove to work, the things he did there, what he ate, and how he came back home an bought his son "A brand new game". He also tells that he couldn't get to sleep, and ask himself "Should I take another pill?". After, he lights a cigarette and smiles.

Although Lucassen has his own character on track 11, he sings along with Tabor on the chorus, not as his character but as the middle-class worker's conscience."

General CommentOriginally, the wikipedia mentioned something about the lines:
"I checked the Mac, I left it on overnight,
    Downloading all the latest files,
Peer to peer the torrent flows into my life
    and I disconnect"

I found this humorous, as to an artist mentioning torrents as part of a person's daily life.

My InterpretationI believe this song feels "out of context" with the place where it sits within the narrative. Between "Liquid Eternity" and "Beneath the Waves". It doesn't relate well with the entire concept of the "Planet Y" Disc if you consider that the song portrays a day in the life of an "Earthly Human". But if you think of it as a "simulated existence", a "simulated common day" within the "Systems" of Planet Y, THEN it makes sense. Perhaps not all of the "Forevers" know they live within a machine world... and maybe they feel something strange about their "simulated world", but they still think it is real... which could explain why they "won't connect the dots".
