I hear the roar of a big machine
Two worlds and in between
Hot metal and methadrine
I hear empire down

I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed
Get down, get impressed
Get pretty, but you and me
We got the kingdom, we got the key
We got the empire
Now as then
We don't doubt, we don't take direction

Lucretia, my reflection
Dance the ghost with me

I hear the roar of a big machine
Two worlds and in between
Love lost, fire at will
Dum, dum, bullets and shoot to kill
I hear dive bombers and
Empire down

We look hard
We look through
We look hard
To see for real
These things I hear they don't make sense
I don't see much evidence
I don't feel

General CommentSpiritual warfare. Not just the warfare that's inside of us but the warfare all around us. The spiritual warfare that is unseen (angels and demons) as well as its visual representation in the arguments and hatred and sins that goes on around us every day, in our lives as well as others.

General CommentThis is actually a cover of a Sisters of Mercy song, and from what I can tell, it's a statement of rebellion against modernism (I hear the roar of the big machine..., I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed...., We don't doubt, we don't take direction..., etc...). Not sure why Project 86 covered this particular song.
