General CommentThe actual title of this song is "Ó friður" (not "Fridur" -- that's not an Icelandic word.)

General CommentJust about my favorite Sigur Ros track at the moment. So elegant.

My InterpretationThere are days on end that I find myself listening to nothing but Sigur Rós, and I love just about everything the band's ever recorded. But there's something about this song that I always come back to. It's so emotive, the way it paints a picture, both visually and emotionally. Glacial ice, pale blue skies. Loneliness, and the bittersweet peace found there.
If I had to pick, this is my favorite Sigur Rós song.

Translationa cool thing about the title for those not familiar with Icelandic; Ó Friður is a play on words, and means Oh, peace. If it were Ófriður, however, it would mean war (i.e. not peace (un-peace))
