"School Uniform" as written by and Daniel Joseph/murphy Haggis....
It all started on the school bus
You were 9 and I was 10
Remember you had a Walkman
All I had was a middle part and a pen

Oh sweet Louise
Whatever happened to her?

Then is all went downhill
You grew tall I stayed the same
I guess that's just puberty
Making us boys all play a losing game

Oh sweet Louise

I always found it hard to work things through
Those school uniforms made a joke
Made a joke of me and you
I'm glad I'm not back in school

She got an older boyfriend (how could she?)
Had a beard
Smoked Marlboro red
How can I compete with that? (how can he?)
I don't even know the location of the bike sheds

Oh sweet Louise

I always found it hard to work things through
Those school uniforms made a joke
Made a joke of me and you
I always found it hard to work things through
Those school uniforms made a joke
Made a joke of me and you

I remember short skirts
Long hair
My hormones flying everywhere

I always found it hard to work things through
Those school uniforms made a joke
Made a joke of me and you
I always found it hard to work things through
Those school uniforms made a joke
Made a joke of me and you

I'm glad I'm not back in school

General CommentI reckon it's just about Murph at school, looking back and stuff - But the thing about "you had a walkman, All I had was a middle-part and pen" about her always being better than him.

Btw, come to Australia again.. this time come to Perth also!!

General CommentI agree with above comments.

It's about a girl in school.
And How he never felt good enough..

Is it just me or does anyone think that maybe this could also be about the girl going through puberty and 'rebelling' and 'changing.' With the older bf, bike shed reference and the school uniform being a joke as it displays people as so 'innocent.'

Probably wrong. But it our own meaning. And just what I thought..

General CommentIt's about a guy and girl who are friends as kids (they met on the school bus) and the guy had a crush on the girl but then they grow up and the girl becomes cool and the guy is still a loser. She becomes really popular and starts dating an older cool guy. The guy is pining for the girl and wishing that he could have her and that he was good enough for her. Basically, the singer's reflecting on his high school days with a mixture of relief that they're done and wistfulness.

I like this part, i can really relate to it.It's annoying because girls go through puberty first. I personally think it should be the other way around!

    Anyway,good song.
