This is a code embedded in prose
Shadow and rhyme the heart will be beat in time
Hidden in words the meaning obscured
Scream for your life they wont take me in line
We will rise up, rise up eyes on the horizon
This is the road the path that I chose
In subliminal verse a manifesto
We will rise up rise up eyes on the horizon
I’m never gonna fall asleep
I’m never gonna waste a dream again
I’m never gonna be born
I’m never gonna grow up again
I’m never gonna fall in love
I’m never gonna fall alone
This is the life for me
Standing on the ruin of a beautiful empire
Staring through the eyes of a Bernini sculpture
This is the time for me
Melancholy vision my own musical fracture
Listen to the light and melodically capture
This is the life for me
Fall into the pallet of a secret lost fresco
Hide behind the crochet on the manuscript paper

General CommentStill got the place to myself I see...from what I've heard, Steven Battelle wrote this song whilst in Rome, hence he was "standing on the ruin of a beautiful empire" at the time. Now, I know he went on an epic journey all over the place, and it seems like he arrived at the end of the journey in Rome (does the album go in chronological order of Battelle's journey? His journey attempting to say no to the world?) and he seems to be in a reflective mood, like he's reached the end of his journey and has decided to start LostAlone of the back of the songs he's written, "This is the road, the path that I chose". Yeah, he got to Rome, and decided the time was right for LostAlone and he decided there and then that that was what he wanted to do and he's never gonna fall asleep and all that again. There are a lot of references to music like prose, rhyme, musical fracture, melodically capture etc so it seems like he decided what he wanted to do with his life and the band in Rome.

    Amazing.

General CommentAs far as I know Lewis88 is totally right. Steven did wrote this beautiful song in Rome and it was the big start on his mind to do what he always wanted to. He felt like he could try and he chose what his path. "This is the road the path that I chose (...) This is the life for me (...) This is the time for me"
