"From Where You Are" as written by and Jason Wade....
So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you
Yeah, I miss you
So far away from where you are
Standing underneath the stars
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things I never thought that they?d mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

I feel the beating of your heart
I see the shadows of your face
Just know that wherever you are
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

I miss the years that were erased
I miss the way the sunshine would light up your face
I miss all the little things
I never thought that they?d mean everything to me
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

So far away from where you are
These miles have torn us worlds apart
And I miss you
Yeah, I miss you
And I wish you were here

General CommentThis song hits really close to home with me, as it probably does with alot of people. I recently had to move away, and im in high school. I moved away from friends and people i considered family, people that i grew up with.

To me its about moving, missing somebody you love, it doesnt necessarily have to be about a girlfriend/boyfriend, it could be a best friend, anybody.

this song is amazing, gets me everytime

General CommentYeah, Gunnman, it hits me pretty hard as well. And that sucks about moving from your friends dude, I've been there. But here is why this song hits me.

Some of my closest friends have died. Over the course 2 years one died every 2 or 3 months. I consider my grandfather as a best friend and aunt also. So really 6 friends and 2 family members. But, this song pretty much puts the head on the nail of how I feel, and I'm pretty sure people who have been through similar things feel.

But in all reality they wrote this in a way that it could mean basically anything. It will vary from person to person, but to me....it just means that somebody is gone..and you know they can't come back no matter how bad you want them to.

General CommentThis is a really great songs. It meaning is pretty obvious. It is about someone who has died and the person they left behind misses them.

I think the line "I miss all the little things, I never thought that they'd mean everything to me" is the most powerful and true line I have ever heard in a song. For the most part, what we miss about someone we have lost is not the big things, but rather all the little things that are no longer there and leave us feeling empty.

What makes this song great is how simple the meaning is, and how most everyone can relate one way or another to this song.

General CommentI really love this song because i can relate to it in two different ways. For one, i'm in love with this guy that lives almost two thousand miles away..and i never get to see him. And a while ago i went through a bad breakup. It's been almost a year..but i can't forget him. Whether it's missing someone who's died..missing a boyfriend/girlfriend, or missing someone far away..anyone can relate to it.

General CommentThis song was used in the Allstate insurance commercials promoting safe teen driving. Their goal is preventing teen casualties due to negligence or drunk driving.

General CommentI can relate to alot of Lifehouse songs, especially this one. I'm going through a long-distance relationship. We've been together for over a year, and it's always been a long-distance relationship, but it's just getting harder and harder to be away from him. I see him every weekend but it's just not the same. Having to leave him to come back home is the hardest part.

General CommentThis song is about life changing events in a person's life, Wheather it be in general or through death, Technically its about death and missing that person, but this song for me a strong meaning about how things have changed from growing up to the way I have become these days.. I miss all of the little things that have come to mean the most, And just thinking about Summer nights under the stars with that special someone, Man this song has really been able to make me reflect on little special moments that I have experienced.. Lifehouse is a powerful band, This is another one of the songs that has made me think..

By the way, The All-State commercial is so sad :(
