Sacrificial sailing feeling super melodramas
and I know I wasn't seeing things too clear
and that's when all the works of fiction started
and now I'm socially retarded
and everything for once is mighty clear

and there were holes in her story
and the air smelled of deceit
tonight the first thing she'll see
is a pair of danglin' feet

Well I'm back up with my next of kin
And they're shooting all the shit again
I swear I never thought I'd sink so low
But here I am all sorts of medicatin'
Hind sight is so educatin'
All that they could say is I've been warned

and there were holes in her story
and the air smelled of deceit
tonight the first thing she'll see
is a pair of danglin' feet

and there were holes in her story
there were stains right on the sheets
tonight the first thing she'll see
is a pair of danglin' feet

General CommentSo some of these lyrics are...probably wrong. If anyone knows better, then please let me know. Of course, that may be impossible, since Nick Urata thinks some lyrics are "garble garble mumble moan."

General CommentHi, I'm sure it's 'I'm back up with my next of kin', 'not make up with my Mexixan' wich makes a bit more sense and you don't get a mental image of him making out with a mexican.

wear I never thought I'd sink -this- low
but hell yeah I'm *mumble* fokes'll medicate 'em..I don't know either...

General CommentI don't know, I eventually typed whatever came to my not-quite-normal brain. And all I heard was "mexican, mexican, mexican." But I like yours better, therefore, those are the new lyrics.

General CommentWell, now that I read the lyrics it becomes even more obvious, but for one of their more upbeat songs I find this the saddest... I think it's about suicide (danglin' feet) after making mistakes perhaps with a relationship with a lying lover..

General CommentI agree totally with alxjpow. It sounds like the narrotor has been medicated for something (depression, bipolar disorder?), cheated on ("air smelled of deceit", "holes in her story")and he's gonna hang himself where she'll see his "danglin' feet". God, its quite dpressing for such a happy tune! (orginally i thought is was about two kids on the swings :)

My InterpretationThis always felt like such a bittersweet song that I could see it being about suicide, but actually the image I always got in my mind was of two people sleeping in bunk beds, and the one in the top bunk waking up first...there is a lot of more childlike imagery that could go here, which is part of why I like the song so much. Like picture swinging on a rope swing, or swimming, or any of the things you do barefoot, or which require you to be in a position where all you see is feet. There are a lot of playful and possibly adult situations that could fit that lyric.
