"The Kiss" as written by and Shawn Lucas....
I know we don’t belong
Everyone says it’s wrong
We come from different ways
So I tried to erase everything that I felt
That I felt

CHORUS:
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
From the KISS
From the KISS

My heart is getting loud
I’m trying to keep it down
I wish the world could hear
But I can’t help but fear that they’ll take you away
You away

[CHORUS]:
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
From the KISS
From the KISS

[Bridge]
Palm to palm
Let lips do what hands do
They pray
Is it a sin
To do what we want to?
Don’t care where we’ve been
Give me my sin again

[CHORUS]:
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
But then you kissed me and suddenly I don’t care any more
Something in me tells me you’re the one I’m looking for
From the KISS
From the KISS

General CommentThe bridge comes from Romeo and Juliet, Act 1, Scene V.

Juliet: Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
    Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is a holy palmers' kiss.

Romeo: Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?

Juliet: Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.

Romeo: O, then, dear sain, let lips do what hands do!
They pray; grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.

Juliet: Saints do not move, though grant for prayers sake.

Romeo: Then move not while my prayer's effects I take.
Thus from my lips, by thine my sin is purged.

Juliet: Then have my lips the sin that they have took.

Romeo: Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged!
    Give me my sin again.

It's pretty much saying that they should kiss with lips, like they kiss with palms, as palmers did. And after Romeo kissed her, he asked for the 'sin' of kissing again. It's actually really sweet and I'm glad Karmina worked it in!

General Commentwhoacassie is right, what they said is EXACTLY where the song came from and perfect definded. You can also interprete it as basically. Its a Romeo and Juliet thing. Soo if your parents are american, you are white, you fall in love with someone who is black, and your parents gets all offended, you have a history that repeats itself, you have a romeo and juliet story =)
