Live like a legend and die like an asshole.
You dance with the man, shake his hand, shine his shoes.
The revolution rock hits sound like shit through your iPod.
"Put fists up like like I got, now gimme the loot."

How I tried to buy my soul back, but the devil bent me over for it.
Got me curled up in the shower scratching the letters that read:
Dear mother, I sold my soul for management.

Fog blasts will not mask a stage act unnatural.
Those timed jumps cause merch bumps, now guests list the suits.
And past the smoke hands the backdrop, crowd screams holy mackerel.
Verse-chorus, verse-chorus, a solo, then boom.

How I tried to buy my soul back, but the devil bent me over for it.
Got you curled up in the shower scratching letters that read:
Dear mother, I sold my soul for management.

General CommentThis song is clearly about compromising yourself or conforming to something when you think you have to make ends meet.

"You dance with the man, shake his hand, shine his shoes."

... way to be a kiss ass, in other words. 99% of people can't stand their boss at work - I think this line is about pretending you like him or her and basically doing what you're told and in the end you're only helping them and feeding their ego while you devalue yourself.

This is more of a dig at the overproduced anthemic proto bands with their operatic stage performances and chroeography. You know satadium rock and how in the end my chemical romance or bands like that who have all this set up now and their big produced live shows are basically all the same in the end. Verse chorus verse chorus a solo then boom. The fluff is just to make money. it dosn't add to the music

General CommentI agree with the three comments above, the funny thing is that this song goes verse-chorus, verse-chorus, a solo and then boom...

General CommentYeah, all comments are correct. The song goes verse-chorus, verse-chorus and solo, but it's way of being ironic, definitely. The song in fact is a very good song, but it's short and technically much easier to play than the others, and easier in its structure. Put at the beginning it's like an ironical statement.

General CommentIf all that irony wasn't enough, the video clip definitely hammers the message across.
