The tramp moves on to the end of the street
I listen to the echo of his hobnail feet
For some, there's a future to find
But I think they're leaving me behind.

The world hurries on at its breakneck pace
People fly in their lifelong race
For them, there's a future to find
But I think they're leaving me behind.

The chances they come, but the chances have been lost
Success can be gained, but it’s too great a cost
For some, there's a future to find
But I think they're leaving me behind.

The wind sweeps up and goes back to its tree
The rain flows by and moves to the sea
For them, there's a future to find
But I think they're leaving me behind.

General CommentI'm surprised no one has commented on this song, probably because it is a lesser known Drake song; However, it is, without a doubt, one of his better songs. In fact, I've been listening to this song on repeat for the past twenty minutes.

Once you read the lyrics, the meaning of this song becomes quite self explanatory. But it's not the meaning that makes this song beautiful. It's the language Nick used.

The first time I heard this song I was struck by its power. It's one of my favorites, despite the bad audio quality.

The ending verse, the part that deals with how nature recycles and will always have a future was particularly powerful. Great song. Nick was always great at drawing analogies with nature.

General CommentI absolutely agree with you.

Anyone who even remotely likes Drake should get hold of his home recordings compilation album "Family Tree" released in 2007.

It sacrifices studio quality recording for exquisite beauty, it is well worth having.
