We spread our blankets over the lake
I [Incomprehensible]
I tried to leave but he held my arms
And head in the lake

So I grab on hold to the spider's neck
And ride out of town
?Cause I'm sick and the days are long
I tried and I tried

To squeeze the blue out of the sky
The yellow out of the sun

In that big invisible moment
The kid on my shoulders
With the time we'll make it into sand
Agreed, he took in your hand

Like a rabbit in a human skin coat
He'll dance on the yard
Like a wolf flipping goodbye notes
You'll howl at the sky

So show your cat teeth to the light
And grab into his main vein

i think is about this guy who is confined to a hospital bed and uses his imagination and has these wild daydreams in order to make himself feel less miserable. and at the same time this character is realizing all the stuff he took for granted in the past. he can't wait till he gets better and gets out of there nad be with his loved ones.

    It's about drug rehab.

Peeing into a jar represents getting tested. He then tries to leave but this second person he is reffering to (i assume it is his girlfriend) keeps him there.Grabbing onto the spider's neck is a withdrawl hallucination.

I don't know about the squeezing of the blue out of the sky however, nor the rest of the song.

More generally however, this song can be about anyone going through a really rough time in their life, but they have one person that helps them get through it, and stays with them the whole way.

    Such lovely instrumentation.

I agree that it's about drug rehab, for the most part. But there are so many recurring themes in Seabear's music - owls, cats, wolves, lakes, arms, etc. It's like a fixation.

I think it's about a terminally ill patient.

The lines: "I tried, and I tried To squeeze the blue out of the sky The yellow out of the sun"

Suggest to me that he is trying to take in as much as possible from life before his ineluctable death.

hm, i think that he's terminally ill, but i don't think that when he says "So I grab on and hold to the spider's neck" he's going out of the hallucination, but getting out of the hospital, so he can live the best of his last moments with his love (he even says that there, the days are long). and it's not necessairly a drug problem, but any health problem.

    and in the final verses,

"Like a rabbit in a human skin coat You'll dance on the yard Like a wolf flipping good-bye notes You'll howl at the sky

So show your cat teeth to the lion and grab unto his main vein"

i think he means that the last days were the best, as she's dancing, but that he's dying and saying that it's going to be hard on her, but that she has to put herself together and face it so she can live again.

oh, and a correction. i think this part:

"In that big invisible moment The king on my shoulders With the time we'll make it into sand Agreed into me keeping your hand"

    is

"and that big, invisible boulder you keep on the shoulders with the time, we'll make it into sand agreeing you're keeping your hand"

i kinda want to say its about depression, and someone sticks by his side through it. "Because I'm sick and the days are long" during depression, time doesn't seem to move. "I tried, and I tried to squeeze the blue out of the sky the yellow out of the sun" maybe he was trying really hard to not be depressed, so he tried living to the fullest. And that big invisible boulder you keep on your shoulders with the time we'll make it into sand a grain you'll keep in your hand." maybe she's carrying the weight of his depression and trying to help, and maybe over time it'll go away, but not fully, and they'll always remember that it was there.

but then again some parts don't fit. so maybe not.

I really don't think it's "I peed tight in a jar", I always heard this line as "a bee died in the yard".

I believe that it's a description of an altercation between two people that placed one into a hospital bed... or simply of 'making love' I can't pull out every word hence why I found this site. But, it's all there. I'm afraid I can't post the details it affords me, but use your imagination. And lets just say that the progression and acceleration of the Violin is her feeling the music. I see it as doing a little jumping around from separate points of view and interpret it as being very metaphorical. So I see why people hear different things. But everyone else is no more wrong than I am right. After all thats what a great song is.. A tune to your real drama.

PS I wish I had found Seabear a lot sooner. Very beautiful!

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
